Re: How DO You Choose Your Programme or Opportunity?

Thanks Jenny, Linda and to the Old Coot, many wonder why homebase business' got started hmmm could it be because of there kids? could it be there kids that go to school with other kids?  Dont know? i dont have any, but if i did i would be doing the same, watching my kids very closely these days. No matter how you look at it if you have a good idea like selling on ebay or marketing your product online its a "Home Business". I chose this for 2 factores. 1. It keeps my eye on my grand mother of 93 and 2. i learned alot from watching, getting advice, and being committed. Because of number 2 factor i am able to partner with a CEO of a great business community, which i learned my skills from being here. And from being here i am in two paying great programs. One is my JerkyDirect Business, i love the taste, i love the people, i love my team leaders and my downline as i do with my downline of Sitewizard Seo, checks just keep climbing from very little work. Its all in what you love thats what counts. You want to hang with the big fish, you get advice from the big fish. I gaurentee you'll love marketing just like i do aweful quick if that is what you want to do. Thats how i choose my programs. Enjoy your wee guys and thank you for reading my dreable... The Young Coot.  P.s. It takes money to make money should be my business slogen.

HI Jenny,

I told you I would get here sooner or later...I guess it was a little later than I had expected! Needless to say I am here now, and I see that you have started a great new forum. I also see our good friend Arthur...with a great response as always! Nice to see you Arthur!

I agree pretty much with all of what Arthur said here as well, except with a couple minor points as you have Jenny. There are some businesses that you can join online to make good money at, but you really have to take your time and check the company out well. You can not just jump at the first thing that looks or seems good to you, or someone else, because you get nowhere fast that way!

Having your own product or service is always good, but what about those that have no product or service to sell of their own? They have to rely on someone's business to make money with. Like Jenny said though, it definitely has to be something you are interested in selling or promoting or it will not work for you. For example, I promote a health and wellness company...I love all of their products, the products do exactly what they say they will, it has a very good 90 day empty bottle guarantee if someone should be dissatisfied, and it is a reputable company that has been in business for over 20 years. It suits me because I am into Natural products etc, but if it were a business selling candy, for instance, it would not work for me. I know already I would not do well with it because of a variety reasons, ie I am a diabetic, I am not a supporter of eating junk food, it's over priced, etc.

So, this is one of the most important aspects when you are choosing a business to get involved with. THere are other factors as mentioned, but I believe that is the first real important factor to consider.

I look forward to coming back here and getting involved with other topics about business here.

God Bless You,

Love Marilyn

Hello Jenny,

Well, I made it finally.
I agree that it helps to have a passion for a product. You also have to have a market.
I like liver and onions. There would be a vary narrow market for that.
I need to be able to use the product myself so I can talk honestly about it. I do not like hype.

I avoid the latest thing, or the "join it now before everybody does new products and programs". If it is good it will be around in a few months.
Sure there are exceptions. If you know someone who has integrity and they are starting something new it could be a good thing to support them.

If you do not expect to put some work in, don't start. You are not going to succeed at some matrix program purely from spillover. If you do not believe in it enough to promote it don't start.

Free advertising is great, but most of the people who look at free advertising want to get something from nothing. It will take you longer to build your business with free advertising. So don't give up. If free advertising is all you can afford be prepared to spend some time. Advertise daily. Continually look for new places to advertise.

If you have an advertising budget you can find places to place targeted advertisements that will produce better results.

There is a lot of good advice and wisdom already posted here. I would add, read the posts in this forum and try to digest the information.

It took me awhile to figure these forum out and how to get into them so i could reply.
When it comes to choosing a business I generally go for the ones that don't say something stupid like 'make $10,000 in the first----' or when someone starts out saying look ad my bank account - how is one to know those are authentic? Or bragging about how much money they've made.
Something about those ads/emails scream "CON" or scam what ever. I still haven't found something that will get some money coming in that I don't have to sink an arm and leg into - well actually it feels right up to my neck
Thanx again Judy

Hi Jenny, I'd like to comment on Dan's post and your reply to it. I made the mistake of starting with a number of MLM opportunities before I knew how to get the word out to possible clients. Needless to say, I failed miserably! I've recently started with another program that fits my little personal niche, so if I make some money at it all the better! I decided to market free advertising programs that can be upgraded at the person's discretion in order to help other people get started with their own programs. A lot of my offers are geared toward people new to internet marketing, but can be used by experienced marketers to enhance their own offers and programs, or to provide training for their teams. When a person is new to this whole internet marketing 'thing' they sometimes don't even know what questions to ask about how to advertise or promote. I had no clue for quite some time until I finally found some methods that work. I don't know if I'll 'get rich' by my efforts, but if some of my offers help someone else on their learning curve and they are more successful, then I've done my 'job'. PS AMEN you old coot, for your post on 6/24!
