The double standard has been part of history since way back even during
Biblical times amongst all groups and societies. Some societies use it to their advantage more so than others.
When one groups WANTS to be right rather than earn the
position, they will do anything to make the opposing or threatening
group look wrong or bad. Even in this situation, I'm sure there are
those on either side that could be put in this position. However, with
the presence of being politically correct, a group that has not earned certain respect will definitely attempt to demand it.
I am sure it doesn't matter what particular political party you are associated with, but doesn't this seem to be at play there too?
This is exactly why the Lord commanded us to "Love each other as thy self". He didn't tell us to "love each other as thy (politically correct) self". But, there seems to be a lot of people in this world that simply do not know how to love, much less know themselves.
If everyone lived with kindness, gentleness and lovingness, ahh.. that would be refreshing.
