I love that graphic, my father has an arched rose trellis like that over his front gate.  I have/had/have a gazing ball also, someone stole it and returned it 10 days later, hmmmm...!!

My Dad was also in the AF, he went to San Antonio in July 1950 during a heat wave, he came from South Dakota so he found it almost unbearable!  Thanks for posting!
