Re: How correctly to write advertisements for Russia?
7/10/2005 5:25:42 PM
Dear Sergey Do I understand you correctly? The problem is really... as I see it, The CIS (former soviet) mostly :-). Has not YET lost it's virginity to the Internet; this is not a problem for the people of CIS but more a problem for the advertisers, who want to get in.... Right? Russia and many ex- states of Soviet was flooded by pyramid scams right after the big break, many people lost time.....hope….and money, Therefore advertising to an Russian community and an American is not the same. To a Russian (CIS) citizen you tell the truth without glitter, the bare truth, AND expect nothing. An American or Vest European likes to get it with cream and glitter. And a little lie… Sign up and earn 340.000 pr. day after 4 days of intensive learning. And people sign up, thinking “ok maybe not 340.000 but less can do” Yes less CAN do, but does people get the help they need, NO. Why should they? They signed up, information has been passed on or income has been generated. :-) EVER seen ANYTHING like that before? It’s there I’ve done it, many does every day, But very little form the CIS. They have been taught the hard way. I can’t read Cyrillic, but I will try to get my Ukrainian wife to translate it tomorrow. IF, I can sell the idea to her. ;-) My thoughts: Content true content, no glitter just the bare truth. Tell just tell, don’t sell, show your soul, your thoughts about your “thing”. Make YOUR passion the carrier of a long and mutual beneficial, lasting relationship. That’s what I’m doing, and it is still tuff. NOBODY believes anymore. Words are useless, worn down by heavy hitters, and spammers. And you need to modify your words; otherwise you mails are blocked by spam-filters. The Internet will last for many years yet, but advertising on the net, will be increasingly more difficult for every month. ++ Many people believes really that “income will come overnight” or “you need NOT to do anything” :-) ever seen that?? I have! Sergey, thanks…. Your lines started a snowball; I have to pull my self away. I think because… it is not so much about how to communicate /advertise to the Russian Internet, but why did the rest loose their virginity. Greed??? Looking forward to the next issue. Hi Ania, Thank everyone whom it has interested. It really is very important. To understand it is necessary not only language, but also psychology and culture of other people. All of us live on one planet. "... Freedom of one comes to an end there where freedom of another begins" . I can not translate this text quickly. It is psychological a portrait of the user of the Russian Internet. It is not enough my knowledge of the English language. Sergey

Hi, I respect and understand what you are conveying to us. My Partner can write English but not able to speak it very well, I told him I would help in ayway I could and I will. Is it ok if I have him translate that for me and maybe have it added to our EMW http://www.emarketingwiki.com if it is ok with you. Please let me know as I do not want to do anything that you do not want done as thatis against our policy. We only print upon consent or you add it yourself. My thinking is even though EMW is young some readers may benefit from your writing and as it grows it will always be there as it is an Encyclopdia for Marketers and Marketing Professionals that have anything that relates to Marketing...Software sales, Ebooks, Resources and the like. Pease let me know if this ok, or if you just prefer leave it be. Respectfully, Laurie Brandt
