Most people would answer the question, "What makes a good business," excellent marketable product in high demand, a rock-solid company, not in debt, yada yada yada.

Those are all important in the calculation of success, but a really good company is not defined by it's tangible assets, but human resources. You might have the best idea in the world, but if your associates and employees are not happy, active, and doing a great job of customer service, you will have a very low conversion rate. Positive action is power in any industry.

Potential customers these days have so many places to choose from to get basically anything they want, that offering a great product is not enough. If they write the company a question, they will expect a quick, informative, and friendly response, or else they will go elsewhere. They want to know their business is appreciated, and rightfully so! They worked hard for their money!

Anyways that's my two cents.

Another great philosophical question with financial significance and impacts.  One factor that surfaces is control. If I good start again, real estate would get my attention; not a sales agent but an owner, renovator and builder.
Along the line often mentioned here, the famous Mr. Trump was quoted to say that if he would do it over again, the MLM strategy would be his choice. I doubt that he would use the typical plan in a box method but you get the idea.

Return for time and money
is also obviously the no brainer but a challenge to bring to reality. These are only a few points that I came up with in a few minutes and many more ideas can be seen in web sites and books like "Good To Great" and http://www.entrepreneur.com/money/moneymanagement/article176530.html

I will not pass the opportunity to suggest evaluating the Amsoil opportunity

Hi Kathy,

That's a loaded question!  :-)  One business my partners and I are in has a 98% success rate, with 16 ways to earn and a phenomenal residual income.

Most of the others we are in are passive, like Predator/Jaguar/PersonalDowline Builder, Rewarding Art.

I would choose a company where newbies and seasoned marketers can make an excellent living and be passionate about the products as well, plus an unbelievable team where everyone helps everyone else regardless of where you joined up.

Whew!  Have a great day every day.

Jen

Hi Kathy!  :-)

What do I look for when I choose my business ventures?  Great question.  Although it is true that I do have my "pre-reqs" when deciding what to actually involve my self with....I have made good money thoughout the years even with junk programs.

I did so just to prove to some associates of mine that it can be done.  From my expierience.......It's not so much WHAT you do.......but HOW.

With that said.....one of the things I have learned is to not spend an over-exhuberant amount of time in places like this......so I gotta go chickadee!

Have a blessed Wednesday!

~ Drummerboy Keep on thinking positive…..thank God for everything that’s good in your life……..and make it a great week!
