Hi Dave,

I find the daily barrage of e-mails telling me how I can become instantly wealthy, extremely annoying.

These people copy and paste messages, without having the first idea about whether these scams work or not. It is riciculous!!

Now, about the POTW and other contests.... I don't think we should be so hard on these people. They are just friends, who are excited about being nominated for an award.

Everybody, deep down inside wants to be a winner. And I think it means even more to people when the votes are coming from people that you have contact with on a daily basis, and whom you consider a friend.

I don't get annoyed when someone asks me to vote for them. I feel excited for them and happy that they thought of me to ask for a vote.

It is just human nature to want to be liked, and that is what these awards are about, being liked.

Oh well, enough from me, I like everybody. LOL

    God Bless, Dave.

Your Good Friend

Hi Dave, An interesting forum which I am learning from it. While there are many "googles" of things I have no clue about, your informing us about our "SIG" (signature) file and changing it has reduced that amount by one. So, THANK YOU for posting that! Does anyone (since Adlands support never answered me) know how, by looking at my "friends" list, can I tell who is blocking messages from me? I want to go through and remove any and all who are blocking messages from me as they must have NO concept of what a "friend" is. What I have asked about may be explained somewhere and if it is I, in my "cluelessness," I have missed seeing it. Thanks!!! Neil

HI Dave,

BRAVO!! I agree with you 100%! Tell me something...did you receive my email telling you to vote for me yet? LOL! ;)

I have always gotten where I am in life on my own merits, not by doing any a** kissing, if you know what I mean! :)

Thanks for this post!

Hi Kenneth, Thanks for a great post! Thank you also for your post on your own forum, The Naked Truth. You're bang on. You're quite right about the fact that it is the responsibility of the forum owner to set the rules. A forum owner can set it to complete control by making it a moderated forum, or can delete posts if they are going in the wrong direction (remembering, of course, that every post after the one being deleted will be deleted as well...) It is a sad statement about human nature that so many people DO would rather be popular than good at what they do. There is an old saying, well known in the sales industry, that there is something that babies cry for and grown men die for. It is called, "recognition." The majority of people will do more for recognition than they will for money or anything else. That's why MLM companies bring so many people up on the stage at their conferences and seminars. Stroking people's ego is the best known way to motivate them. God bless, Dave

Hi Neil, If there's one thing that can definitely be said about you, it's that you're not clueless!! :-) I have not found a way to find out who, if anyone, is blocking me, nor do I worry about it. If someone wants to block me, that's their concern, and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, even if I knew. God bless, Dave
