Yes Larry, Only some gambles have to be taken. Like driving a car or taking a bus. Some gambles have to do with money and others to do with life. And some gambles, like the smoking of cigarettes, are much more dangerous than are other gambles. Smoking is STUPID! Smoking is SELFISH! Smoking costs both smokers and non smokers lots of money. The cost of treating smokers for illnesses caused by smoking is NOT all paid for by smokers so we non-smokers have to pay for their smoking. Our fire insurance is higher due to smokers and I am sure other things cost more due to smokers. And the added costs are paid for by all, not just those who CHOOSE to smoke. Aside from the MANY illnesses cause by smoking, it also causes smokers skin and teeth to be yellow. It adds many wrinkles to their faces. Smoking is DANGEROUS! Smoking KILLS both smokers and non-smokers. Smoking adversely affects the health of non smokers. Smoking causes the death of animals in forests and in homes due to fires started by smokers. Smokers STINK! Their breath smells terrible. Their hair, bodies and clothes stink! Their cars, furniture and homes stink! Because anyone with even half of a functioning brain knows that smoking is stupid, you wonder about the intelligence of those who smoke. And you know those who still smoke and who have no desire to quit smoking are really suffering from a lack of smarts.

Yesterday I heard that a friend of mine may have a smoke-related illness so that was my reason for posting the smoking deaths in my family.  I'm glad so many people came here with their own comments.

About gambling, people say they don't want to join Lotto Magic, it's a benefits club where a group of people play the Florida Lottery together.  The Florida Lottery was already in existence, Lotto Magic did not create the lottery. 

Everything is a gamble, taking a shower with the possibility of slipping in the tub, driving a car, crossing the street, flying in a plane, petting a dog that may bite you, saying HI to a stranger, marrying someone who may take all our money and/or cheat on us.  Everything has it's gambles.
