Re: How to get REAL traffic

Hi Dave, Thank you for the encouragement and the ideas. I happen to be left handed, so when I saw the site I tossed it into my mix but I hadn't made a real plan for it. Now that you've kicked me in the arse I guess I'd better get busy ;-) I do have a thread in my forum called 'Upside Down and Backward' http://community.adlandpro.com/forums/thread/595064.aspx It's a small start; look for updates coming soon!

Thanks Dave for an excellent post.

I read your post with great interest.  I started online by taking an e-course that lead me to believe I had to join a multitude of safe lists, traffic exchanges, buy leads etc. etc.  I eventually woke up and realized that the only one I was helping were my uplines.

Until now, I have been kind of bouncing around looking for system that will work for me and thanks to your good advice, I too, am going to 'renovate' my profiles and learn to use these forums and communities in a whole new way.

Keep the good ideas coming!

Hi Muriel, It sounds like you have been the route that so many of us have been down. It's kind of expensive! Those other things you have mentioned do work, but they you have to be careful how you use them, and also need to realize that the target market with most of those methods is other people doing the same thing as you. Those markets can be very good, IF you are marketing something that those people can use to market their stuff. God bless, Dave

Dave

I Thank you for this information - I'm new to online marketing but NOT new to marketing offline. Your advice in this article has confirmed what I am beginning to see and understand.

I agree - the quality of friends and the quality of offers is FAR more important than the "hit counter" spinning off great useless hits..... also - I agree one should focus on the program that suites them --- and only add a couple (Max) secondary programs....

I'm going to revamp my friend request slightly after reading this forum....

PLus what I have been doing is sending each "new" accepted friend, ONE email with info on my secondary programs and a link to my Adland forums....  I think I will continue that however I should tell them within that email that I wont be spamming them with offers.... They will see in time I don't like to send offer after offer..... rather helpful info (hope as helpful possible no matter what their business) and an occasional offer on my Primary.

I've added your link to this forum IN my forum on building a web presence....

One point though - my personal strategy is to build a large friend list - but NOT hit them over and over with my offers -

Nothing wrong with a large friend list if you do not abuse the privelege of this system here at Adland.

I will of course invite them to look at my Primary once it is online and will occasionally "pump it up" - but for the most part I have decided to focus on writing brief tips in my forum that have nothing to do with my programs..... I decided that long before reading this forum and I am delighted to see my thoughts coming from someone with experince online... so Thanks a lot and I wish you every success.

Neil
