Hello Kathy,

When I first started attending forums here in Adland Pro I use to
leave a comment in every forum because I believed like in the
Real world one should at least acknowledge the invitation and thank
the host.  Well about 5 months ago I read and participated in a forum whereby many of the long standing members said we should not unless you were trying to get points for your posts.

So with this news and ettiquete I stopped leaving my presence
unless I had something to say.  So Yes I am a lurker..

I guess de-lurking is a new word to put in my internet vocabulary because I have not heard of this.

When I first came on the internet it was called lurking whereby one
was reading posts but did not comment to say you had been there.
I imagined a little similar to being with a group of your or friends
and a couple of friends are in deep conversation while the others are lurking on the fringes listening and not saying anything - yet are participating with the flow and maybe waiting their turn for a breath break in the conversation to jump in with their say. Or even have
nothing to contribute to the topic.

I am curious, Where did de-lurking come from?  Another American
word like de-train that one cannot find the meaning in the dictionary?
De-train incidentally means to get off the train in America - whereby you will hear Disembark from other countries..

Kind regards

Kathy, my dear friend.  It does not matter what others say.  You will always be an angel on the internet in my eyes.  The words you speak are truthful and no one can refute them.  If they do, then is truth really found within the one who says otherwise?  When someone reads a post; but, can add nothing to what others have alrweady said, it is better to say I agree then to just walk away and say nothing.

Hello my friends,

Heres some more I found on delurking.
Amanda I am going to find out where it originated from.If Brian CLWSON WAS HERE, I BET HE WOULD  KNOW.  BRIAN KNOWS EVERYTHING.

Hey, you! It’s delurking week, so comment on this entry, OR ELSE

http://www.hopstudios.com/nep/unvarnished/five/2681/

Jen at World Wide Watercooler informs me it's delurking week. So come to this entry and add a comment. Or, like, bad things will happen. Update: "Lurking" is when you read my blog but never comment. "Delurking" is when you stop lurking and reveal yourself.
