What exactly is De-Lurking?

The term is used for people that read blogs or join chat rooms or newsgroups and don’t participate in commenting. The readers that just look around because they don’t have anything to add to the discussion or because it’s already been said. Does this sounds like someone you know? It’s something that got orginally started by Sheryl from Papernapkin.

Is De-Lurking a bad thing if you don't have anything to add except "I agree?" Sometime what I would say has been said very well, and I don't feel the need to chime in. Should I be doing this, just to show I am around? What's the verdict? Barb

If it has been said, is there any reason to re-hash it?

I hate warmed over hash, don't you?

I usually say things unless I think the subject doesn't interest me OR if there are lots of links on the forum and I don't feel like clicking on all them to look at other things.  Also if there are LONG posts, I skim thru it and sometimes I don't post because I didn't really read it.

This is just to give examples of what some terms are on the networking vibe.
The new people have never heard of certain terms so each day I am going to try to enlighten the new people on catch phrases and terms that are used through out networking, so if you know of any lingo terms please tell the new people and their defintions,
