Re: I'm curious. Have you lost money online?

When I first started, I signed up as an affiliate
at http://www.leatherup.com.  That was probably
some time in 2000-2001.  I used Google adwords to
promote the program.

Of course, I had no idea what I was doing.
Even though the CPC at the time was low, I still manage
to rack up over a thousand dollars in advertising cost.
I had hundreds of clicks that resulted in sales.  However,
LeatherUp.com gave me the round-around and their
tracking was terrible.  In fact, they might as well have
none because nothing showed up.  Even the affiliate
manager confirm that at least one sale was made and
yet the statistics did not show it.

He promised that everything will show at the next update.
I was foolish even to believe it.  Guess what?

Even till this day, their tracking and statistics program
is the same.  Nothing have changed.  I can't help but think
the number of affiliates they have taken advantage of
this way.  I've never posted this anywhere until today.

If anything, go with a merchant who uses a reliable tracking
and statistics program.  Better yet, stick with the mainstream
affiliate networks.  Just for this reason, I feel that the
affiliate should be able to make a purchased thru their own
affiliate link.  First to know first hand what they are promoting
and second, to test the affiliate program before they put
any efforts promoting the merchant.

Yes, I lost thousands about 5000. with a company called Clickincome.  They are out of Salt Lake City.  That's about the 4th company out of Salt Lake City that took my money and ran.  I think twice now about offers originating in Salt Lake City.  I now am busy with a travel company.  So far so good we shall see what the future holds.  But in the mean time I am having fun talking about travel and traveling with insider perks and courtesies.  It's great!  Join me.

Hi, Julie Dillon Read here. I've been reading through all the different comments. Very interesting. I must say, I count myself lucky to have come across the program that I'm involved with.

I bought my very first computer about 5 months ago, got online soon thereafter, punched in 'work from home' and up came an ad for the program I'm in. My sponsor was in touch with me within hours and I was off to the races. Yes, I invested money, but now 5 months later, with lots of hard work and learning, my advertising costs are covered and I'm just starting to make a profit. I have built/and am building a contact list and downline.

So no, I have not 'lost' any money and can see I am very fortunate in that aspect. I had to spend money to make money- but that's not new information. Thanks for letting me share.

To Our Success,

Julie Dillon Read

About 3 months ago, I saw an ad stating "Make $5,000 every week - Free to join."

I checked out the website, and discovered the "Free" opportunity required a "Deposit" of only $50. They also went on to say the $5,000 fee to join, was being waived, and the $50 was only a "nominal" deposit.

Well, I fell for it, and sent off my $50, and received the program.

When I read the instructions, I needed to invest another £20 to make the program work. As I had already paid $50, I decided I might as well pay the $20 as well. So altogether I paid $70.

To cut a long story short, I have now operated the program for 3 months, and have not recieved $5,000, not even $1. On the contrary I am still waiting to earn 1 cent.

Hi Linda

Sure like most people when I was learning I fell for all scam programs.

I was fortunate and have learned by my mistakes.

I now make my fulltime living online.

The biggest lesson I learned was to pay and join programs so I am committed.
