Re: I have questions.

Hi Jason!

============
I really do not want to sign up for any more "My traffic program is better than theirs...." sort of time wasters.
============

I had to chuckle at that line.... you're right, they are time wasters.

Jason, I think you instinctively know some of the mistakes you're making. You're right that most 'free traffic' programs are a waste of time... and that unrelated affiliate programs take away from your credibility as a "real" business.

I would like to suggest something that I think will be an eye opener for you. Open 4 browser windows. In the first one, go to your website. In the other windows, go to these websites:
http://www.knifeoutlet.com/
http://www.buckknives.com/
http://www.agrussell.com/

You will see, automatically, what is wrong with your site. Your site does not look like a knife dealer.... it LOOKS like someone that's dabbling in Internet business.

In your left menu, anything that takes people away from your site needs to go. Ditto for anything unrelated to knives/swords. Google, MSN, Fox Sports, Harley Davidson... etc... they don't belong in your naviation.  And particularly - the links to things like "link 2 us, Adland pro, cash for notes, marketing help..." - those seriously do not belong there. They KILL your site.

There is a knife store in our local mall. When I walk into the mall, I can not buy classified ads, or marketing help, and I certainly can't trade notes in for cash. I can buy knives and swords. The plethora of things linked to at your site detract from what you are trying to sell.

Most people think the hardest thing to "get" online is traffic. That's not so. The hardest thing to come by online is credibility... and you certainly can't get it when your site, itself, undermines credibility.

A domain name is only $8.95 at godaddy. Once registered, you can "point" it to your store. Then, look at the content on some knife/sword dealer sites as examples of how to fill in your own.

Once your site LOOKS like you're a knife/sword dealer (instead of jack of all trades) - then come back and we'll give you a hand with promoting.

: )

Hi Jason,

When I checked your site, all the tips Linda gave you went through my head. I wonder why? It must be because I have been following Linda's suggestions for a year now and things have been improving some with my business. It still takes plenty of work and sometimes it's hard to find the time.

So stick with Linda and you can't go wrong, unless, of course, you give up on yourself.
