Thank you Nick for this history of witches. I don't celebrate Halloween
because of what it has become. In the US more often than not
kids use the holiday to terrorise thier neighbors.
I used to celenbrate Halloween years ago and as a child it was something
fun to do and it was the only time I got to eat candy. I had a major
sweet tooth. I became diabetic and it took the fun out of the
celebration for me.
You mention demons. I have seen a materialization of one in my house
a few months ago and it knocked a towel off of the towel rack. Needless
to say I tend to believe that they exist. I was not the only one that
saw this happen. My wife and a friend also saw it.
The Bible calls witches Sorcerers and in several parts of the Bible
condems this behavior. It seems fun to some people because
it is a noveltiy to have some power that people don't in general
believe in. After my expereince with a demon, I stay away from
people that practice such things.
