PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

LORD, please watch over our Troops and help them to win the fight

In their dark adventures, be their Guiding Light

Give them strength to endure the loss of their special Soldier Friends

Sourround them with your Love which is everlasting and never ends

Let them be aware of the danger that lurks everywhere

Be ever ready to listen to every Prayer

Let them always know that you are at their side

And give your special Blessings and Mercy to those that have died

Help them carry their heavy Artillery and to be very watchful for the foe

Keep their spirits up when they are feeling low

Help them be patient as each day passes by

As they wait to hear from their loved ones who write a loving message as they cry

Let them hold their heads high with pride

This is the Day they are going home to be by their Loved One's side!

Hi Robert, Thanks for the forum and the opportunity to share some uplifting moments. At least that's what poetry does for me. I had almost forgotten how much I enjoy poetry, both reading it and writing it. This particular poem I did not write, however it is one of my favourite. ------------------------- Society Is You And Me! Society is you and me. Everyone's a piece of "they". Very much of what we do Ends up as words that others say. No "I" exists except as "we", Though he and she are part of you; Each pronoun's only partly true, Each life becomes another's way.
