Hey, Kathy,
This is getting almost as exciting as "My non-existing Forum Without a Tuttle!"....vivaBonita
There are people in our community who are here just for the forums and friendships mainly - as a matter of fact, that's all you get here for the most part at the end of the day, because everybody is selling something you don't really want. LOL
In a closed community like this it becomes annoying after a while.
I always try to find answers to things that get into my way.
So, here are some things you might want to consider -
(a) Don't send out a commercial message in lieu of a offer of friendship.
(b) If you don't want messages from some one in particular - take them of your friendship list - it's the honest thing to do. Don't just block theirs and send them yours!
(c) Whether, we admit or not, forum messages are the major bulk of messages anyone receives here.
I don't put adland messages in my primary business mail anymore. I use the adland box. I check in at the personal link first to see if I have messages - then I know the rest at the adland box is ads or forum mail.
Ads get scanned and deleted. I try to post on all major forums I join for that's the only way you can control the messages you get. You uncheck the sent box and keep a copy of the message in a forum folder to follow up in the RSS Reader and/or at the forum if you want to later. without being overloaded
My must read business mail - less than 25 messages a day
My should read community mail - less than 50 pieces a day
My Don't Give A Rat's...... mail maybe 10 pieces a day - my Yahoo and Gmail boxes are practically empty - because I won't join safelists or networking groups that send me an avalanche of messages. I don't read theirs, and I know they don't read mine!
Now, if anyone thinks this too much info, you should come over to my latest forum and lets have some fun.
