Unfortunately, so many "leaders" try to define reality to fit their vision of what "reality" should be.

Worked for one of those guys several years ago.  I brought him a report on how the staff was using their time.  It didn't look good.  Instead of showing the staff how to improve their performance or at least telling them to get on the stick and use their time more effectively, he told them to list non-work related things as work when they filled in their actions reports.

This is the same guy who asked me to keep two sets of books.
