This one requires deep thought.
I completely believe in the "inner voice" which I believe comes from divine guidance.
However, there may be times when our judgement could be clouded because we are in denial.
Case in point: My daughter, after having a child at age 23, had a large mass in her neck (since age 17), thyroid related, but the fine needle aspiration biopsies had been ok. Her ob/gyn insisted that we see a surgeon, so we did.
The surgeon wanted to remove the nodule. I told him I didn't believe it was cancer, and I didn't want to cut her throat because she was a singer. This doctor grabbed me by the shoulders and said - "look, if it was my daughter, it would come out because it doesn't belong there and it could turn into cancer even if it isn't now. And I feel that this NEEDS to come out!"
That was a shocker, but I decided to trust HIS gut instinct, and guess what - he was right!
I think it's important though, to follow your instincts. And in a sense, my instincts told me to trust this doctor no matter how I felt about it.
Thank God I did. She is 5 years cancer free now and still singing at weddings!
Warm regards,
Sandra
