Hi everyone,
I love the new pop ups.
I have discovered forums that I didn't know existed, some were interesting, some informative, some funny, some sad, some even made me aware of members that were discontent and needed a friend and most of the forums have some sort of value for me.
I would never have got an invite to most of those forums as most of those forum owners wouldn't even know that I am here, let alone have the desire or the time to find me. As a newbie, it was my job to find them and the pop ups have made that more possible.
One of the things Adland boasts about is all the knowledge that is available here, for the whole community - well I think Bogdan came up with the best way for us to find it, and it is uptodate.
When I first came here in February, trying to find these forums was difficult, I had to sift through a lot of forums, I didn't find too many only because I didn't know how or where.
Many a time I have found that the forum owners post held no inerest for me and yet because of the pop ups a reply somewhere down the track had actually caught my attention and the forum had become a topic of interest.
Because of the pop ups I have been able to get to know more people and what they are like. I haven't been restricted to my list of friends only. At first I thought the list of friends was an opt-in list, I didn't realize that the understanding with the members of the community was that forums were restricted to the list only, I thought the forums were open to all members and then someone politely told me that they weren't - shock. The pop ups have actually opened up the forums, which I think is great.
The hits to my profile increased as has invitations to become friends. I also sent out more invitations than what I would have otherwise and my hits to other people's profiles increased and I have found items of interest on their websites. Like Anamaria, I too have lots bookmarked in my favourites.
I can't seem to find any negatives, it is not in my way, I work near the bottom of the screen (that's probably because I am only 4ft 9in and my eyes are closer to the bottom, I can understand how a taller person may work higher up and therefore it could get in their way).
I applaud Bogdan for this tool.
I think (it's) cool.
