Re: Cool or confusion

Hello Everyone, I got here just in time to see James' comment pop up on my screen. It reminded me of how I felt after I had seen a few of them. At first I thought someone was IMing me. Then I realized they were pop ups of forum comments. Then they lost their 'cuteness' and became annoying. Finally, I realized they are very very handy. I can see which of my friends are online, what 'trouble' they are getting into and which topic I can join to get myself in trouble too:-) Niicceee... I went exploring and found I could disable them [to my disadvantage]. So they stay!! Moreover, I would love my friends to know where I am too. And...woohhooo..I saw MY OWN post flash by just a few seconds after I posted yesterday. Talk about, 'real time.' About the browser issue...I use Firefox and the popups appear in the top left corner of my screen so they are really not intruding in my work they just draw my eye to see who is where. I decide to join or continue what I am doing. Basically, I've just accepted them. As I said...they stay for me. James you can click on options and decide if you want to turn them off. Read carefully before you do though:-) Well take care everyone. Thanks Bogdan for another innovative tool. Best Regards All, Marlamar http://www.marlamar.com Best Home Based Business Solutions

Well you asked for my opinion. To me pop ups are annoying and I don't use them for that reason.

Well this is the boss's site and he can add pop ups and pop under or pop overs if you wants. It is up to us to read them or ignore them. I for one am a fast reader and will quickly read the pop up and them move on or follow up if it is interesting. So pop ups are here to stay, I mean in the internet world and why shouldn't Adlandpro keep up with the latest technology.

Hi Mary, I vote for the popups. On other websites most popups do not impress me. But this is Adland, and Adland is not your average website. Adland is a very special community with a great and caring admin. I agree with Kenneth that we need to look at the big picture. These popups are not the usual content, they make us aware that a forum has just received a new posting. I am often working lower on my page and the popup is at top left corner. The popup goes away by itself after a short period of time so I do not have to close it at all. Please keep the forum popups. I can see the picture and some brief idea of the theme. With the email invitations I don't know what their theme is until I open the email. Also do we fully realise that because of Adland's excellent ranking in the search engines that many visitors are viewing these pages from outside the Adland membership? These viewers will also see the popups and become aware of another forum that they did not know existed. Mu thanks to Bogden for continually improving the Adland features. Wayne

Hi Mary Thanks for the invite I don't like the pop-ups so I wrote to Bogdan and ask him if he could give us the option of turning them on and off He did if you click on options when one pops up, you can turn them off completely
