Money does not buy happiness, it buys comfort. People live in the illusion that money will make them happy, because they are not living in the comfortable lifestyle they desire, and they blame lack of money for their discomfort. The cure: make more money. Silly people.
I grew up in a single parent home; my mother working very hard to make ends meet. We never had a lot of anything, but we appreciated everything we did have.
If people could learn to appreciate that which they do have, they would find themselves to be happier people without the comforts that money could buy them, if they had it.
I am happy, regardless of what my bank statement says.
I have two great kids.
I have the best husband in the world.
I have good friends.
I live where I want to live.
I do what I want to do.
I am not debt free, but I have never been happier in my life than I am right now, because I choose to appreciate what I do have, and I don't spend time whining about what I don't have.
Happiness is a state of mind, not a bank balance.
My two cents...
