Re: OH NO! That Ugly, Insidious "Opportunity" is Back!

Oh when the saints, come marching in... Oh when the saints, come marching in... I want to be at St Kilda (NOT!) When the saints, come marching in... I just had to do that for you Norm. The Saints are about middle of the table at the moment - 4 wins, 4 losses, I think. My team, the Eagles, gave them a spanking - first game of the season. I'll give you THREE (3) guesses who is sitting at the top of the table - LOL. Regarding Skype... I have read some really ugly reports about what the software has done to some people's hard-drive. I haven't been tempted to download it. =============== "(they call this real life?)" =============== No. It's an alternate world here - LOL! By the way, that link that you gave was a dead end. Can you check it? I wanted to have a squiz (Aussie talk folks - just ignore it) Gary

At a guess Collingwood or maybe Hawthorne? Hard to know from here in the depths of France (Burgundy) - where I am doing my level best to support the local industry! (hic!) Re Skype - I have been using it for about six months, gassing away with mates in Estonia, Oz, China, Belgium and Hungary without any problems - at least none that I have been aware of, for about six or seven months now. Apart from sometimes getting dodgy connections - no sweat. My links are - personal website - http://www.associatesintraining.com and the book is at either http://www.authorhouse.co.uk or on http://www.amazon.com. I will be interested to hear if you still find these dead-ends. If you want a real laugh see my video on an Indian site http://www.surlin.com - click on the 'Training Associates' words. Just in the throes of publishing my Memoirs - 'Brothels, Beans and In-Betweens -or 50 years an ADman'- a considerable chunk of which is about my time in Oz between 1969 - 1989. This is through the Lulu company in the USA - but it is not quite ready yet as I am checking the text for possible litigation issues!!!! Take care, Norm

Hello Forumites, Welcome to the Norman and Gary thread! Seriously folks, we'll get over all this soon. Norman, Two guesses and two strikes. Steee-rike three and you'll be out! So, let me give you some help... ... at 7 wins and just one narrow loss the top of the AFL in Australia at the moment is a club that: 1 - soars 2 - is the USA bird of prey 3 - rhymes with "Beagles" 4 - won premierships in 1992 and 1994 5 - was runner up in 2005 6 - will PROBABLY win the 2006 Premiership 7 - hails from right here in Perth. Answer? Somebody at this forum gave us a warning about Skype ruining a hard-drive (Craftie Linda?) and I have read it elsewhere too. Norm, I went and had a look at your site. The link you gave had a suffix, so I just removed that bit after the / so it ended at the .com and there it was! So, you are a marketing man. That explains your interest in these parts, I guess. And you are in France. We might have to introduce you to our friend "Le Bob." He flits in and out of these threads with gay abandon (in the TRUE sense of the phrase, that is). Le Bob and Cheri tease us with their French banter. It's very exciting to see their repartee - LOL! By the way, forumites! Where IS Le Bob? I miss his dry wit - and his wet wit too. Back to Norman... So, in your book you make some disparaging observations? If so, I hope you could find it in your heart to make a small warning about MLM's. I must get Linda to find that thread. There's about 40 pages of commentary. In fact, it could almost be turned into a book itself. On another matter... A strange thing has happened. Since my diatribe about all these annoying GORILLA marketers the flood has turned to a mere trickle. Yipppp-eeeeee! Then again, I don't seem to be getting notifications of forum replies either. I think the Adland site must be under further construction. There have been a few changes lately Is anybody else having communication/notification difficulties? Gary

I left Oz in 1989 - and if my fading memory serves me correctly there was no such team as the Eagles then? The Swans had left South Melbourne for Sydney and Adelaide had just started a team, as had Brisbane. re. Francais(e) - I leave that to the French lady wife. You would appreciate this Gary - we got married in a restuarant in Moonee Ponds ( yep - Dame Edna territory) and has that ever fascinated and confounded the French!! 32 years ago - and they said it would never last! Re. Communication - yes as I said earlier it took about four tries to get to you. I always tend to think it is my fault - being an old codger now, but I am not so sure about that. Actually I am convinced that Bill Gates in trying to scramble our brains. Incidentally if people are finding the cost of updating stuff from M. Gates - have a look at the free download www.openoffice.org Brilliant and free!!! Someone out there is talking my language - apart from you that is Gary. Whoops 'she who must be obeyed' has just arrived back from a week in Nice - so must dash. Talk later! This must be amazingly boring for our American chums? Cheers, Norm
