Hi Amanda, The mention of meditating at a traffic light was more like a funny way of describing how easy it is. Of course, I would not really suggest that you close your eyes and meditate in traffic. I also once believed that "meditation" meant going into a trance and all kinds of stuff I did not understand. What I have come to believe is this... Saying a prayer is talking TO God. Meditating is LISTENING to God. What I have learned is that I can just sit still for 5 minues and focus my attention on my breath, noticing the air coming in and our through my nose. Try it. Just sit still for 5 minutes and focus on your breath. Perhaps you will also begin to feel a peace and calm as I do. It is a wonderful way to relieve stress throughout the day. I also use several audio recordings, either special music or someone speaking softly with positive affirmations and encouragement. My current favorite is a recording that uses special technology and I listen to it with head phones. It is called Holosync and you can get a free CD here: http://www.MeditateInstantly.com Holosync is one way of meditating without having to concentrate very much. I just listen to the sounds on the CD and it gives me great peace. Hope that helps to take some of the mystery away from the idea of meditation.

Hi Nick, That is wonderful. I'm glad you're still here to share your gift. Can you share a poem with us? I have a strong urge to ask you to share something from or about my son Brian who passed over in 2003.

A very simple meditation

Hello friends, One of the most simple meditations I can recommend is simply to look out a window and look at a TREE. But instead of looking at the limbs and leaves of trees, look between them at the empty SPACES. When I do that I get a little tingle and I feel like I am connecting with something greater than me. You can do the same thing inside by looking at the space between two objects. It shifts your brain and your consciousness somehow. Dr. Wayne Dyer calls this "the gap" - the spaces between objects. Try it!

I am very sorry for your loss. I hope I inspire some very good memories with these words that you may share with others in your family - God Bless In Memory I was sure I felt his touch today, in the wind that gently passed by. And that was when I heard an angel say, "His spirit will never die." I thought I saw his face today, in a beam of the morning sun. And then I heard the angel say, "His work on earth is done." I know I heard his voice today, then laugh his gentle laugh. And then I heard the angel say, "He has taking Heavens path." I dreamt I saw a broken heart, in the crescent of the moon. And then I heard the angel say, "The Lord will be coming soon." I thought that he had left us, for the stars so far above. And then I heard the angel say, "He left us with his love." I thought we would all miss you so, and never find our way. And then I heard the angel say, "He will be with you every day." "The stars, the moon and Heaven above, will forever be around, reminding us of the love he shared, and the peace he has finally found."
