Linda (Mason--we seem to have a surfeit of Lindas here, lol)
I'm going to pick on your post just a bit, only because I believe it's relevant to the discussion to do so.
McDonalds is not in the burger, salads, muffins, etc. business. Their franchisees may be, but the corporation isn't. It's in the real estate business.
Why do I think that's relevant? Because throughout this discussion, with few exceptions people have been posting as if we are all talking about the companies or products we represent as being each stream of income. I submit that so long as those companies or products rely solely on the internet as their recruitment or distribution model, that's ONE stream of income. No matter how many companies and/or products are tributaries of that stream.
What would you all do if the internet changed? Don't dismiss that, because it could happen. When I first became aware of the internet, it was not a commercial model at all. Since it became one, there have been many less profound changes, all of which affected the way people utilized it in their income-generating efforts. Some adapted, some didn't, and that will continue.
I say all this not to create panic, but to offer food for thought. Nor do I have suggestions, because each person's path is their own. In fact, I added this stream of income because real estate has its ups and downs and because, like Linda (Caroll) I don't want to be doing it when I'm at retirement age. What's your fall-back position?
