I think it is your forum and you can and should have the right to set the rules as you please. I also think it is a good ideal to make the rules known as each forum owner runs theirs a little different.
Most people do not like any post that does not agree with what the owner starts the thread about.
Thus this in away does away with the ideal of it being an open forum. I seen several tonight that has spoken about people posting ads in their forum and deleting such forum post. Again this is up to the owner.
I do not have a problem with the rules and think they are fine. I do thing that prehaps adland should post such rules on the sign page and call it closed forums.
Then any owner wanting to apply such rule could state at the top of each post "This is a closed forum."
Flaming is something that some newbies don't evn know what it means , but should not be used in post here or blogs or emails.
I post less and less now days because most people do not want an open forum honest truth about a product, business, or offer, or process. They want yes people that agree with every thing they say. Thus there very few forums I even visit much less post to.
I have a nack of making people mad and I don't even try. I am brutly honest at times especially when speaking about the bible or the things of God. But then I much the same way when people are tring to get people to join and spend money on someing I know does not work.
I have said to much here more than likely but then that the way I am. So, I will say this to all forum owners,If you don't want to know, Don't ask! If you do want to know then don't get mad just because we don't agree. That does not mean we can't be friends it just means we are not going to agree on every point or topic.
I was going to post a link here I think would help your business Linda, but I will honor the rules and not do that.
