Hi Cheri, Toastmasters is an EXCELLENT organization, and a very good way to improve the link between the brain and the tongue or pen (or keyboard). In our modern world, colloquial speech can be a terrible detriment, as we are OFTEN conversing with people from countries where English is a second language. People who learn English as a second language often are very well versed in proper English, but completely lost when we begin to mangle the language. I'm glad you mentioned the misplaced apostrophes! Hi Dave, I agree with you about error laden websites. It's unpolished and is a big turn off to me too. It's a good thing that we don't necessarily have the same view of posting on our forums. Not that we want mistakes and typos to be there. But, I know that sometimes I get in a hurry posting, & I will look back later and see glaring mistakes that I've typed in. Thanks for reminding us of the key elements to writing good copy. It reminded me that I need to take my time when I'm feeling "snarky". LOL! Take care, Cheryl

Gary, Good idea. Except that it was about 18 feet off the ground, lol. I see I also misspelled possessive, darn it. Feet of clay. I don't let things like that sign bother me nearly as much any more. However, from a lifelong habit of unconscious proofreading, I have to admit to forming a judgement about a person's professionalism when he or she is habitually lazy about the details. I make exceptions for people from Oz who make terrible puns. I'm rather fond of terrible puns. :-) (Not to mention people from Oz.) Cheri
