Hi I know when I start typing faster than I can think I tend to leave out words. I have missed spelled words and in a hurry to get the info out and look at the letter I sent later WOW. It is bad, I can't believe I sent that. So I have been taking my time and spell cheking most of my work. Oh by the way I Didn't check this Best Regards

Excellent advice Dave. I read a lot of sales letters for marketing products and often find mistakes in grammar or spelling. Sometimes people just leave out a letter, but even that bugs me! As for "snarky" I have never heard that term. Perhaps it's a regional saying. DonnaZ

Hi, Dave, Another great post and long overdue. I have been decrying the dumbing down of the English language for years, ever since I remonstrated with my daughters' teacher for not correcting her use of language and grammar. The response that 'the content is more important' was the proverbial red rag to a bull. My daughter changed schools that very day. If you listen to international radio (and I have had lots of time recently to surf the short wave bands), you will find that good English is spoken only in those countries where it isn't the prime language. The BBC in England is now awash with all sorts of accents and strange colloquialisms - a sop, I believe, to the anti discrimination lobby. "Ya carnt refuse me jus cos I don't talk right" is probably a slogan somewhere. Regards Arthur

Hi Dave. Being an Ex-Pat, living in an ex-colony (that should upset all my American friends, as well as my darling wife!), I'm probably worse than most. You see, I try to write the Queen's English, on an American word processor.. The spell check goes crazy!! However, you are, yet again quite right. There is no excuse for bad spelling or bad grammar in ad copy or website build. Your Security Friend in Las Vegas.

Hi Dave, HOORAY!!! Thanks for the great tips,it's a pity the school systems are letting kids slip through. So many times I look at a beautifully set out sales page ,but the one thing that will turn me off is bad spelling and grammar. It's ok if it was intended use of slang. 90% are just bad spelling and not proof reading. Which really amazes me to see from one's who claim to be making the big dollars. To me it's just lazyness. It's one of my pet hates!! I hope you dont mind but I would love to put a link to this post to my friends as well. Thanks, hope you have a great weekend my friend! Leanne Busby http://www.creatingprosperity.com/riverrat
