Dear Samantha,
If his father is doing drugs, can't you contact either the local police where he is at or the local Child Protective Services Agency? They should be able to do a drug test. They may even want you to take one, so be prepared for that.
If he is putting your son in danger, it doesn't sound to me like he ever needs to talk to his father again, at least not until he cleans up his life.
Of course, I don't know the whole story, but those are a couple options for you.
