Hi Kathy, Interesting question, and one I have heard discussed a million times. What I have learned over the years is that cloning or duplicating is only possible with basic employment, not entrepreneurial pursuits. I just don't think the average person is cut out for network marketing for one very BIG reason, most do not like to sell, and if you are not a sales type, you will not be successful in sales, and MLM is sales, bottom line. Yes, some will succeed if the are merely personable, people people, but when it comes to asking for the sale, most cannot do it. This is why there are so few top salespeople in the world, so to find these people, who are also entrpreneurs, it is not that easy. Everyone can train and support people until they are blue in the face, and hopefully, some will duplicate, but in reality, this is not the case. This is the biggist problem I see with this subject is that most are not sales oriented people, so before one can hope to clone another in MLM, they better first focus on attracting only sales types or the super personality types depending on what your company is selling. I have seen it all in sales over the year, and I have found that it is near impossible to teach sales to someone who is not self condident and a people person to start with. I have trained hundreds in marketing over the years, and without the right ingredients, few will become top performers. You can only train people to do what the are comfortble doing, and how many people are comfortable selling? Cold calling, talking to strangers, never mind asking for the sale after you cover all the benefits and hopefully value of your product or service. The thing matters most is to have a product or service everyone needs or wants, offers absolute value, and hopefully exclusive, and if you have all these going for you, then you can train order takers, but it is nearly impossible for the average person to teach others how to become a professional sales person. Okay! I came back to this, because I want to add something here. People have a tendancy to copy people and to try and do it better, for the most part of it so it is possible for people to become clones if that is their desire. Most people don't know how to train people and that is when it becomes frustrating to all involved. Next most people want to differenciate themselves as well as do the same thing that you are trying to teach them. I think that most people are sales people, and don't know it, after all when they got that first job, they sold themselves and never knew it. You don't get hired because you look good you got hire because of the sales pitch. Most people who are trying to clone are not yet completely cloned themselves, and it shows, because all they do is send out a prewritten ad, and they do not know how to modify it. So the cloner becomes frustrated because he can't clone, because he is not yet cloned. Ever heard the phase ["The Hunter get Captured by the Game"] ? Well it happens. Hello my friends, Yes this is a great topic huh?I hear so many times that people want to clone someone as if they were the person,they want to train up the person to be like them that is why I think are so many mentors now adays,everyone is trying to teach what they have learned and done.Someone once told me they were out of work for 14 months and could not get a job anywhere but he did not know what the problem was, but in the next breath he thinks he is the greatest network marketer around I do not understand this mentality,Go figure,people trying to teach something they can not even exceed themselves, I guess thats why we are still learning together,Great responses everyone,ill be back,kathy

You know Jerome, talking about duplicating, a head manager came up to me after hearing a story from someone and asked me who I was and where did I come from ,He asked me if I could teach him to be more like me,I said its not something I can teach you,it starts from your heart.He just chuckled.I do things for people that are beyond nice where I work and people are so shocked they tell the higher ups and they want to be more like me I guess,but Everyone is different and have there own ways,thanks,kathy
