The two whiners in the room....
2/17/2006 9:30:29 PM
I read an interesting article today. Sociologists put 100 people in a room as part of a study. 2 people were told to only say negative things and complain as they mingled. (The 2 did not know about each other.) The other 98 had been asked to only say positive things as they mingled. Know how long it took the two complainers to find each other and pair up? 15 minutes. Like attracts like. The article went on to say "Nothing comes to you, everything comes through you." What a poignant thought. Whether you succeed or whether you fail are not an accident or stroke of fate. Success and failure are consequences. They are the consequences of doing what you do and thinking what you think. And, of course, the people you interact with most often affect the way you think. See how that works? Hang out with negative Nellie or negative Ned and you'll start to think like them, too. What you think affects what you do. See how that works? Incidentally, that also applies to what we read. It applies to anything you feed your mind. That's why I don't read hype or tripe. If we don't choose what to feed our brains, rest assured everyone else will feed them for us. 15 minutes flat. Amazing. : ) Linda

Very good, Not that you need my approval. But sometimes the hammer hits the nail precisely dead center on the head. Thank you

Hi Linda, I have not had much success with internet marketing yet, but your posting reminds me of something that shows what kind of results you can get if you are determined enough to do what needs to be done. A few years ago, an experiment was done in a jail. I have forgotten where, but the story stuck with me. A metal ball was made, with a prize inside. I think it was extra cigarettes or something of that nature that inmates are always short of. Anyways, they put this metal ball, which had been two halves welded together, ground down smooth so you couldn't see the weld marks and put into the jail cell with 6 men I think it was. They were told about the prize, and they could do anything they wanted to the metal ball to try and get it open to get the prize. Bets were made as to how long it would take them to get this metal ball, with no visible seam marks and no way to open it, open. Most of the bets said over 12 hours, with the majority saying several days, to weeks, to never. It took the inmates just over two hours to get the metal ball open, and pass around the cigarettes. Anyone can succeed, depending on how determined they are to get to where they want to be. I know that I am determined to get to where I want to be, no matter how many times I have to try, and possibly fail, I will get there eventually. Sincerely, David Rowland

Linda, I would actually have expected that, based on the Law of Attraction. What I think would be interesting is to time how long it takes for two negative thinkers to infect the other 98 or vice versa. Of course it would only be valid if the people were actually negative or positive, not just acting that way because they were told to. Once I understood the principle you're talking about, I stopped watching the news, reading the daily newspapers, reading crime novels or associating with people I've never known to be positive. It's amazing how much better my life has become. Of course I'm uninformed about current events... :-) Cheri

Greetings Everyone, I guess I get to be the other whiner huh?? LOL!! I have not had any success here on the net thus far. However, I am determined to learn what I need, to become successful. I have been browsing around direct sites, noticing my emails and now I will begin to reach out to the site community members for guidance. I have a product that I am absolutely passionate about and know that it will be helpful to many. I just need to know how to target the consumers that would need it. I haven't figured out how to reach them just yet. But this is a note really just reaching out. My very first post within the community and not sure how things will go. What I have noticed is that this community in very interactive and I appreciate that. Felicienne Brown Worldprofit & E.V.A. Consultant www.futureprosperityzone.com www.prosperityzone.com
