Congratulations Dr. David King. That is truly an awesome story with many, many lessons for all to learn from. I call that type of "young-growing-up"
hardship "Blessings in Disguise". I can relate all too well with your story. (Only my "beating" person was my Step-Mother). My story is similar and many people have asked why I am not a bitter, angry person...I chose to learn from the lessons God was teaching me. My stepmother taught me "how-not-to-be", therefore making me the person I am today...not the one she said I was but the one she said I would never be! And strangely enough, I am actually grateful to have known such an awful person and thankful to God for letting me be smart enough to know that I didn't want to be like that! Congratulations, again, on being the person of the week!
John, thank you for inviting me to this forum. It is an inspirational one.
Take care everyone and remember "Without dreams, you are not living." JET
May we all succeed in whatever we do!
