Here, another self-portrait of him! And a portrait of his daughter, just to see his fine execution in oil on copper painting.

Self portrait as an old Man

Portrait of the Artist’s Daughter, 1761

.The above is a self portrait of the artist.

Painted in oil on copper this painting shows the fine smooth finish typical of German art at this time.

Seybold painted self portraits throughout his career. There are many fine examples.

I think this is one of the best I have seen on the self portrait. I really like this one, excellent.

I am pleased that we all agreed on Seybold's works.

This is my favourite Carl Larsson Self portrait.

There are however several more.

CARL LARSSON . 1853 - 1919

A mischievious artist famous for his folk art paintings.

His paintings of Swedish culture are popular worldwide.

Here are some more examples of his self portraits.

A photo of feminist Marie Laurencin (1883 - 1924)

Stage designer, artist and illustrator. She developed a style which used soft blues, pink and grey with black eyes. She was sought after by society members after her return to Paris from Spain where she spent several years developing her style. Strange but effectively memorable.

self portrait

I love the simple palette in this self portait

Antonio Ciocchi (1732 – 1780)

A master of Trompe l'oeil , tricking the eye into telling the brain to see what is not there. This painting shows items of importance in a corner of his studio.

Note the compasses, a Masonic item.

Note too the self portrait in the frame.

A great painting beautifully executed.

This portrait is of Antonio in 1789 at the age of 57
