Something happened today that I am very greatful for. However, I don't know what to make of it. As most of you know, Shirley and I are not what you would call 'Well To Do' I took a walk earlier to a nearby Gas Station/Convienience store to get some cigarettes. We have not paid all our bills for this month as yet and I want to take Shirley out for our anniversary. In order to get the cigarettes I would have to use my bank card. I had about three dollars in my pocket. I went to the Scratch off machine and inserted a dollar. Before scratching the ticket I would say a small prayer. "Please GOD. Let me win something." This time, however I added, "Or those of the Galactic Forces, let me win enough that I do not have to draw from the bank." As I scratched, I noticed a "Y". I then revealed a "T" (I had already scratched the winning symbol so I knew I had something. The "Y" and "T" indicated Twenty, but the next letter that came up was "F". I had two winning symbols. Each showed $25.00. I vert quietly handed the ticket in and collected my $50.00. I thanked GOD as well as the Galactic Forces. I was taking no chances. I bought my smokes, plus a couple of sub sandwiches for our lunch and called a cab to take me home. Coincidence? Perhaps. However, I still have some left over. We have to believe in something and I have always believed in GOD, however I am now going to believe in his helpers even more. Hi Michael, I agree with you on that. It felt a little strange recounting that story, however I felt that I had to. I mix a lot of my thoughts with seriousness as well as humor. The thought that went through my mind when this occurred was 'How often do we experience a situation like this and never stop to thank GOD or his helpers for allowing it to happen?' As our one main GOD or creator is responsible for all life in the Universe would it not be possible that He is also responsible for all that is seen and not seen? Our thoughts are like radio waves of energy that sends out signals at a frequency that we cannot hear, however someone unseen nearby could hear it. As long as our thoughts are not of malice, we may actually have angels to protect us. I am greatfull for this intervention and for the intervention that occurred many years ago when I stepped into traffic and found myself on a payphone talking with Shirley. I will not go into full details about that because you all know the story. The point to this story is that there is so much that we still don't know about life, however many of us have seen signs that we are not alone. There was another instance at the same store when I handed the girl at the counter change amounting to a dollar. It was about six days before payday. She handed me the ticket and said, "I hope you win big." I looked at her, smiled and said "No, Angel. I don't want to be greedy. I just want to get by." Her names just happened to be Angel. I scratched the ticket off, went back and cashed it in for $80.00. When Angel saw the amount, she became unsteady. As she handed me the money, she smiled and said, "That is because you did not want to be greedy." When things like this happen to me, I know that they are special, and I never take them for granted. We always have to give thanks to our creator and his helpers and never accept more than we can use. Miracles do happen and there is always a good reason for them.
