Hi Evelyn

Great minds think alike!

Hi Amanda

They wasted Elvis' life in those dumb Elvis movies. I liked him in concert.

Don't worry. You are still in my good graces even if you said you liked Frank Sinatra. I would even love you if you said you liked Obama. I would have to think about it for a minute or two but yes, I would still love you ...well, maybe. Just kidding. I would still love you.

Hello Myrna,

I enjoyed listening to Elvis, yet I did not like to watch him at all even in his movies. - but there were several bands and soloists I felt the same way.

Often it was because I heard them many times before I ever saw them, as their movies were slower getting down to NZ, then their voices just did not live up to the image I had of their faces..

I hope it does not mean that I will be left out of your good graces now! *grin*

Hello Helen,

Yes I agree, I did not think Elvis acted very well, but he could sing. I just did not get to see many concerts on TV.

There are not many of the old performers I did not like - I am not a big fan of jazz for example but there has been some performers who I did like singing and playing jazz, because I think it had a different rhythm.

I liked Luis Armstrong, Danny Kaye who played and sang conventional music too.
The TV channels which there was only 1 for many years would play old movies especially musicals and on Sunday afternoons was Walt Disney and the many and various movies they did.

Evelyn,

Your forum is a delight. It is what I remember the good times we have had on ALP in the past years. A coming together as good friends Oh, maybe a few bumps in the road, but that is life.
I use the little check mark a lot, it is a god send to me. Another thing that I like is when you said if you came to someones house and didn't like something, you would not lie to them. I appreciate that, to me that is a real friend. Thank you.

Amanda, don't worry I could never leave you out, you are such a sweetie, I have grown accustom to you. Amanda you know I appreciate you.too.

Shirley the years just keep coming faster and faster, hope this one is a great one for you. Happy Birthday about 8 days early.

This song is a happy, foot taping song.

John Denver, Jaque Cousteu, Calypso
Something to know about the ship Calyspo, the ship was built as a minesweeper. The reason for a wood hull,it would not cause magnetic mines to explode. And the ship was made in Seattle Washington,USA. One time when the Calyspo was in Seattle for repairs, my Grandmother took us to see the ship, the crew brought us onboard and gave us a tour of the ship. I did not know the value of the Calypso then, but I do now.

10_1_136.gifHi Myrna,
Imagine living the life of Jacque Costeau. The adventures, the discoveries and the unimaginable beauty that he has seen that most of us could only imagine. There is still so much that we do not know about our planet, but through his lifetime he showed us so many beautiful sights, that are all hidden from view.

GOD BLESS YOU
~Mike~
