Hello Helen,

This is an older song that I have enjoyed as a 'pick me up' and even being sung a little faster still was enjoyable.

I am not sure who the original singer was, but I heard tell that he did all the back up voices himself by over playing on the tape.
I would go look up the information if you can remember who he was?

I remember reading Paul McCartney doing a whole song in the same method way back when he was with his 2nd group Wings. Paul is a very accomplished musician able to play many, many instruments.

Hi Evelyn & All,

I'm posting this here cos it started in your thread and if you have any problems with it feel free to delete this post.

Last week I posted about Karen G's habit of posting and deleting and in the process complaining that she is being mistreated. To my surprise Karen sent me a PM and I replied to it and she answered with a "Thanks".

To my surprise while checking the post history today I saw that Karen posted my reply to her via PM and I answered her post which she deleted and then went on to post again with a jumbled diatribe in all caps to which I replied as well. She'll most probably delete my last reply as she did the first. I decided to post the whole story here which will include her initial PM to me. I don't normally post PMs since it is a private correspondence and also against the TOS of AdlandPro but since she posted my reply without posting her PM to me it all should be out in public.

Here are the PMs between Karen and myself:

Hello Karen,

Yes I have been to your threads and listened to some of the videos (have you ever been to mine? (rofl) ) . I happen to love music and most of the songs I listened to in your threads actually offended my sensibilities and ear drums. Aside from Luis Miguel and Roger MacDivitt who are quite good the rest can barely carry a tune and are off tune most of the time. The worst part is everybody lying and saying how great it is. So I visit only when Luis or Roger post a song cos I quite enjoy them.

If people have fun doing what they're doing in your threads and Mike's then it's fine and dandy for you all but don't expect others to be constant visitors with the poor quality of music there.

I didn't post in order to hurt anyone's feelings but to express my surprise at your unjustified complaints and almost immediate deletions. Your complaints showed that it is all about you but that's your right to feel that way but don't expect others to play the pity me game with you.

Pauline asked you to keep the threads going??? And that's the only reason you kept them going? Sounds like a very weak excuse to me especially when you consider the volume of songs you post there all the time.

You haven't caused me any trouble at all Karen. I was simply amazed at your lack of consistency with posting and deleting all the time.

Shalom,

Peter

I thought the issue was closed but today she started a public confrontation for no logical reason. Hmmmmm, looking for logic and reason might be to much to ask of her.

Sorry i will not be posting any more song this person feels he know a lot about music AND HAS SAID THIS TO ME

My reply was as follows (which she deleted but left her post up):

Karen,

I have two things to say about your quoted post below.

1. It's against the TOS of AdlandPro to post private communications (PMs) with out the approval of the person with whom you're having the exchange.

2. But, if you decided to break the rules at least be intellectually honest and post your initial jumbled PM to me so people will understand why I said what I said.

Oooooooops, I shouldn't have used the word intellect in regard to you. Sorry about that.

Shalom,

Peter

P.S. Since you are well known for deleting I'll be making a copy of this post along with your post.

And then this jumbled diatribe by Karen:

PETER YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT SING SNAP . FIRST SONGS I SING ARE ,ALL DIFFERENT WAYS WHEN YOU ARE IN CONTEST THEY TELL YOU HOW TO SING AND WHAT TO DO . THEY CAN BE FUNNY FLAT. WITH SOMEONE ELSE ALL DIFFERENT WAYS. THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THERE THAT CAN REALLY SING . AND TO BE THERE JUDGE ! IS REALLY SOMETHING . CAN YOU EVEN SING . THEY SING WITH THE TOOLS THAT SING SNAP GIVE US TO SING WITH . I FEEL THEY DO PRETTY GOOD. YOU HAD NO REASON TO COME DOWN ON ME AND BE MISTER KNOW IT ALL. YOU NEED TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT WHEN YOU KNOW NOTING THAT IS HAPPEN. DONT WORRY THERE WILL BE NO MORE SINGING ON HERE SINCE YOU ARE THE EXPERT. BET SING SNAP WOULD LOVE TO HERE HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT LOT OF THERE SINGER. IT HAPPENS THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY COMES UP WITH LOTS OF THE WAYS TO SING SONGS. AND I DO HAVE ALOT OF TROPHYS FOR SING SO GET OVER YOUR SELF MISTER KNOW IT ALL .BET YOUR WIFE HAS PROBLEMS WITH YOU AND THE WAY YOU ACT. KAREN

My reply which hasn't been deleted ............yet. :)

Karen,

Your all caps do not impress me in the least nor does your jumbled post, bad grammar and spelling.

I like music and can tell when a person is off key and off tune. One doesn't have to know squat about singsnap to tell the difference between good music and bad. The fact that I find your singing to be in that category is nothing personal just my opinion.

Your reason for starting a confrontation here is not clear to me. When you send a PM and get a reply via PM even if there are disagreements it's between the 2 of us alone. You chose to publicize this and again your reasoning is not clear but neither are your rambling posts and PMs.

I'll carry on singing in the confines of my home and shower and you can carry on inflicting your off tune and off key music to the public at large.

I won't respond to any more of your diatribes cos it's simply not worth the effort replying to your gibberish.

Shalom,

Peter

Hello Kathleen,

Too funny, you have quite a wit. LOL

As I was reading, I was thinking what I have been learning lately especially Charlotte Iserbyt 'American Deception, dumbing down in schools.

Children, Students, adults are rewarded throughout life with stars, awards, medals, ribbons, cups, Oscars, etc. No one gets corrected anymore.
It was very interesting yet shocking how this was accomplished.

We should all sing on Singsnap and make a record-sales site, and all be compelled to get along, just like on the handmade sales sites where everyone promotes each other's scarves and jewelry made from rags and recycled newspapers, and there's no arguing because everyone's in sell-mode...and we all tell each other..."That looks great!" ;)

Hi Amanda

The guy who sang "Don't Worry, Be Happy" was Bobby McFerrin, was it not? He's a black guy ...good looking, I might add. I never was a fan of the Beatles. I could never figure out what the big deal was with them. They weren't that great, imo. And those haircuts had to the ugliest. But Elvis on the other hand was something else.

Here's another video where Bobby McFerrin sings "Don't worry..."

If you go to YouTube, there's several videos with him in them.

Hi again, Amanda

By the way, thanks for the instructions on how to embed YouTube video. I was surprised it was so simple.

It's a good thing I am able to read between the lines. I figured it out.

Now you guys will get all sorts of videos :)) Don't worry. I'll try to control myself.

Hello Helen,

Thanks for the singers name. Yes he did sing this whole song without musical instruments. It is such a catchy song and been around for years but probably will never really outdate.

This was one of the better links I found to explain..

"This song reached #1 on the US pop charts, which is astounding for a song sung a cappella (without instruments). McFerrin recorded it using only his body to make all the sounds."

I liked the Beattles music, they put out some great songs that had meanings that did comprehend until I was an adult. But I was not a 'screaming fan' of any band, or soloist. I could never understand why the teenagers went berserk when they saw many of the music groups!
