I got this just a little while ago from one of my good friends and I thought it was hilarious. :) I've also posted it in Peters joke thread.

A musician named Dave Carroll recently had difficulty with United Airlines. United apparently damaged his treasured Taylor guitar ($3500) during a flight. Dave spent over 9 months trying to get United to pay for damages caused by baggage handlers to his custom Taylor guitar. During his final exchange with the United Customer Relations Manager, he stated that he was left with no choice other than to create a music video for YouTube exposing their lack of cooperation.

The manager responded:
"Good luck with that one, pal."
So he posted a retaliatory video on YouTube. The video has since received over 6 million hits. United Airlines contacted the musician and attempted settlement in exchange for pulling the video. Naturally his response was:
"Good luck with that one, pal."
Taylor Guitars sent the musician 2 new custom guitars in appreciation for the product recognition from the video that has led to a sharp increase in orders.

Hello friends, it is with a heavy heart that I make this post today. I just learned that my dear online friend, Melinda, passed away this past Tuesday and is being buried today. Melinda was one of my very first online friends and although we never met in person we talked quite often by phone and we shared so much with each other about our life's joys and problems.
Melinda was a trouper, a very brave lady. I don't know how long it had been, but she had to have both legs amputated due to complications from diabetes and then in the last couple of years she battled cancer and seemed to be winning that battle too. Not sure exactly what happened this time that caused her demise but with her health issues it could have been anything.
When another online friend, Cheryl, also a good friend of Melinda's, informed me this morning in an email I couldn't believe how deeply it touched me. Isn't it amazing how we can become so attached to people we've never met in person? I feel as though I've lost a member of my family. One thing that I do know and that is there is all kinds and degrees of love and I loved Melinda as a very dear friend and I am going to miss her very much. :(
So, in case I never get another chance, I want to say to each of you my friends - I love you, and I only wish for each of you the best life has to offer.
Sincerely,
Evelyn
PS: Please remember her husband John, her daughter Jaime and her son JD in your prayers as they're having a hard time dealing with this.

WHAT IF THERE ISN’T ANYMORE

Have you ever been struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn’t “anymore”. No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more “just one minute.”

Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say “I love you.” Some things we keep — like a best friend who moved away or a sister-in-law after divorce. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what. Life is important, like people we know who are special.. And so, we keep them close!

And just in case I’m gone tomorrow:

I LOVE YA!!!

Live today because tomorrow is not promised.

Hi Evelyn,

Sorry for the loss of Melinda. What was her last name, I too have a Melinda and I was wondering if it could be the same one.
