Hi everyone, here is a WARNING for you!!!!! Never buy anything at SEARS!!!!! When I bought this house the first of November last year, I knew there was no garage door opener, all the wiring was there for one, but one had never been installed. At the great price I paid for this big, like new house, no garage door opener was not a deal breaker. Everyone I talked with said to go to Sears and although my inner voice was saying no, I didn't listen to it. I had, had a very bad experience with them over a cook top I had bought from them a few years ago and I said then, never again would I ever buy anything from them again but you know what they say about never say never. Not only did I buy the garage door opener but I also bought a microwave range hood, while I was there and paid a big installation fee for both. To make a long story short, yesterday afternoon I had to run into town and when I came back the door opened when I pressed the remote but it wouldn't close. I kept trying and finally by holding down on the button installed beside the door into the house I was finally able to get it to close and this morning I called Sears to see about getting someone out to take a look at it. Well was I in for a shock!!! I was told the warranty was only good for 30 days and I would have to pay for a repair bill which would be a minimum of $75. I guess I have to take part of the blame for not reading all the fine print but who would expect an expensive piece of equipment to fail so soon and who would expect a 30 day warranty instead of at least a year's warranty. Well since it seems as though I will be paying a repair bill it WILL NOT be to Sears. I will go to ServiceMagic.com and get one of their recommended repair people. Sears will never get another dime from me and I told the lady at corporate this morning that I was going to do some advertising for them so here it is -DO NOT BUY ANYTHING AT SEARS!!!! They were for many years a reputable company with good customer service, but no more. No wonder an article came out in December saying they were closing hundreds of stores. I have bought from Sears for many many years, every appliance I ever bought came from there plus I always bought my kids school clothes from their catalog and my ex husband bought $1000's of dollars worth of tools and now their customer service has gone to the dogs. I am so angry that I let myself get taken by them again but this time is definitely the last time. Never again and this time I mean it. This time really is never again because I have learned an expensive lesson.
