Hey Evelyn,

This group is great. The 9 year old banjo player is so cool and makes it look effortless to play as well as he does.

Shalom,

Peter

Hi Evelyn and friends,

I agree with Peter. I also was amazed with these kids' performance and the way they make i
t look, particularly the banjo player, like it was the easiest thing to do.

Hello Kathleen,
Wow, Adele has a beautiful powerful voice, I enjoyed hearing her especially as new talent.
The second video would not work due to copy right - the trolls are out working..

Hi Mary Evelyn & everyone,

Here's Adele singing her hit song "Rolling In The Deep" she also wrote it...she won 4 Grammy awards the other night, she's still only 23! Adele had laser surgery on her vocal cords a few months ago and wasn't allowed to speak for 2 months, now she's back in force!

I like this one the best, she looks very natural here, like she just came in from outside and decided to get warm and sing!

There's a fire starting in my heart
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bring me out the dark
Finally I can see you crystal clear
Go ahead and sell me out and I'll lay your ship bare

See how I'll leave, with every piece of you
Don't underestimate the things that I will do
There's a fire starting in my heart
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bring me out the dark

The scars of your love remind me of us
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all
The scars of your love, they leave me breathless
I can't help feeling

We could have had it all
Rolling in the deep
You had my heart inside your hand
And you played it to the beat

Baby, I have no story to be told
But I've heard one of you and I'm gonna make your head burn
Think of me in the depths of your despair
Making a home down there as mine sure won't be shared

The scars of your love remind you of us
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all
The scars of your love, they leave me breathless
I can't help feeling

We could have had it all
Rolling in the deep
You had my heart inside your hand
And you played it to the beat

Could have had it all
Rolling in the deep
You had my heart inside your hand
But you played it with a beating

Throw your soul through every open door
Count your blessings to find what you look for
Turn my sorrow into treasured gold
You pay me back in kind and reap just what you sow

(Now I'm gonna wish you never had met me)
We could have had it all
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
We could have had it all

(Now I'm gonna wish you never had met me)
It all, it all, it all, it all
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)

(Now I'm gonna wish you never had met me)
We could have had it all
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
Rolling in the deep

(Now I'm gonna wish you never had met me)
You had my heart and soul
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
And you played it to the beat

(Now I'm gonna wish you never had met me)
Could have had it all
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
Rolling in the deep

(Now I'm gonna wish you never had met me)
You had my heart and soul in your hand
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep)
But you played it, you played it, you played it to the beat

Here's her performance at the Grammy awards on Sunday night, can you believe that designer Karl Lagerfeld made a recent statement that she's a little too fat? She's a singer/songwriter, not a model. Geez. She's a star!

Hello Helen,
Dolly was one of the stars whom I watched on TV then she co hosted with Kenny Rogers in another series.
She had my admiration from way back and since being on the computer have been able to watch more youtubes of her singing and in interviews about herself, read the positive uplifting things people say about her.
I reckon had you had the courage to reach out your hand to Dolly she would have shook it. We did not necessarily have the courage and / or assertiveness to do that back in the days.

Helen, I believe you and you don't need to provide proof. Your word is good enough for me. :)

Hello Dolly fans

It may interest you to know that I met Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner in person. Ok, ok. I know what you are thinking. Helen's going to pull our leg ....or Helen's lost it. But no, it's true!

I stood right in front of Dolly and Wagoner and could have touched her if I had thought to reach out and shake her hand.

When my daughter was still a little girl, she and I would like to go to K-Mart once a week or so to just look at things. We couldn't afford to buy much.

While at K-Mart one evening, they had Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner there singing and selling their records. I didn't really know much about Dolly so I was not that impressed but I remember standing there and listening to her for a few minutes and smiling. I remember her looking right into my eyes.

That's my claim to fame. This happened in Surrey, British Columbia (close to Vancouver) in the early 70's.

Now if you want to see if I am telling the truth, you will have to find one of her old itineraries in the 70's and see if she was in Surrey, BC at the K-Mart. Her itinerary might have said Vancouver BC as not many people know about Surrey BC. I don't have time to look for it and I wouldn't even know where to start. I don't even know if there is a way to find it. I guess you will just have to believe me :)) Yes, it did happen.

Helen

Thanks for sharing this oldies which I had not heard. Dolly knows how to make fun of herself yet still in a positive way and yes I agree Dolly is no Dumb Blonde.
The song and scenery from the 2nd video was lovely on the 75th Anniversary

Quote:

Amanda, Kathleen and Miguel, here is a video of a very young Dolly singing "Dumb Blond" on Cas Walker's show back in 1967 and yes Amanda, Dolly did not let success go to her head and she's the same today as she was then. She has given back much to her community and helped an untold number of people.

In this second video you'll see several shots of Cades Cove which is part of the Smoky Mountains National Park. There is an eleven mile loop around it and when my kids were younger we rented bikes and rode around it. There are log cabins and churches here because at one time it was a thriving community. If you ever get the chance to visit you'll find it a beautiful, peaceful and serene place that will take you back in time.
