Hi Mary Evelyn,

I brought the links to a few forums, I like to showcase different versions of the same song sometimes, here's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" by Bob Dylan, Avril Lavigne, and Axl Rose...and then I also looked at my own forum activity for the past several days to see where I've been besides here and at my own place, some are serious issues, some are getting to know people around us, and some are just funnin' around...for some reason I keep thinking about my belated cousin David's favorite TV show that my Aunt Mary couldn't pronounce....Battlestar what? Galactica? Galashia? hmmm? ;)

Hi all, I thank Mary Evelin for inviting me to this interesting forum.
I have long been absent from the Adland, it is interesting to see what's new.
I was just learning to work with a video camera and venture to suggest you look at a series of my first video - do not judge too harshly.
This is the video about the festival in our village in honor of Christmas and New Year.

Greetings from Russia, Lydia

I have recipes! This is the way I "cook" (not much at all, and my measurements are by can-size! :) These are real recipes, I've made them all several times and my family is all still alive!

These recipes are for normal eaters as part of a large meal,
or double everything for large groups or people who pig out.

Holiday Yam Bake:

1 large can of yams, drained, and mashed with electric mixer
Small can of crushed pineapple, drained
1/4 cup melted butter or margerine
1/4 cup brown sugar
Mix everything together
Top with mini marshmallows,
Bake at 350 (pre-heated oven) for 40 minutes or
until the marshmallows are melted & golden brownish

====================

Frozen Cranberry Dessert

2 cans of whole-berry cranberry sauce (15 ounce cans?)
Large can of crushed pineapple
Container of Cool-Whip
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
Chopped walnuts, optional
Stir everything together,
Freeze in a very large bowl or 9x13 pan (whats that called in centimeters? huge rectangular cm pan?)

======================

Party Coleslaw (this is more of a summer thing but it's great!)

1 pound of shredded or diced cabbage & carrots (buy it in a bag!)
1 jar of Marie's coleslaw dressing or poppyseed dressing

Small can of crushed pineapple, drained
Can of mandarin oranges, drained
Colored mini marshmallows
Mix everything together, the marshmallows get mixed all thru
Refrigerate for several hours or overnight before serving

=======================

Brownie Enhancer (this was part of a recipe, but it's good for choc-cake topping, the recipe was layers of brownies or chocolate cake, with this frosting, and strawberries, all layered)

Container of Cool-Whip (16 ounce?)
1 can of sweetened condensed milk (small can)
1 package of vanilla pudding mix
Mix with electric mixer
Serve on brownies, also great topped with cherry pie filling.
You'll probably want to eat with a fork, too sloppy to pick up the brownie with your hands

Hi Lydia, you don't know me yet but,

I like watching winter stuff, ……………on TV and my computer.

The only winter sports and activities I get into these days are snow

blowing the driveway and getting to work on snow days that when

the schools are closed, then I should be able to stay home too.

Oh almost forgot. I work for myself so only if the work has to be done that day.

I have more time to play and to do this.

Hi Lydia,

Thanks for the song. Robertino had a magnificent voice as a teenager and as you said when it changed wasn't as good but he's
still a very good singer.

Thanks again & Shalom,

Peter

Hi Peter! The excellent performance of the Neapolitan song!
This song reminded me my college's years, when in Russia was very popular the young singer from Italy Robertino Loretti.

Neapolitan song

Robertino Loretti
Robertino Loretti (born in 1947) is an Italian singer, mostly known for songs he performed as a teenager.

Robertino Loretti's album JamaicaHe was born in Rome, Italy to the large family with eight other children. His family was poor and when he was 10 his father fell sick and Robertino was helping family delivering bakery to restaurants. He enjoyed singing the folk songs on his way and was noticed by people due to his beautiful voice. Once in one restaurant he was asked to sing on the wedding. After this many other restaurants in Rome were asking him to sing.

Robertino sang in Cafe Grand Italia where neapolitan actor Totò and Danish TV producer Volmer Sørensen noticed him. Volmer Sørensen was vacationing in Rome with his wife, singer Grethe Sønck who noticed the boy. In a few weeks he was already singing in Danish TV shows.

Robertino recorded the album while in Copenhagen.

Later his voice changed and new voice isn't as distinguishable as the old one was. But Robertino Loretti still travels in Europe, US and Russia with concerts.

Robertino Loretti is especially popular in Russia. Cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova even requested his records played while she was in spaceship. He still travels to Russia being friends with Russian singers Muslim Magomayev, Tamara Sinyavskaya and Joseph Kobzon.
