Sorry, you are correct. I got carried away on my soap box..:)
I have never had a mammogram and I do not intend to either even xrays are few and far between.
I will not be flying anywhere and looks like public transport e.g. bus/train is out too although I have not had to use these for years. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my Amtrack train trip from California to Wyoming back in 99 and saw some beautiful countryside and scenery on route that I would not have seen by vehicle due it's different route - Because these transportations now have TSA which are even higher penetration than xray's on specific areas.
nor will I be probably be attending any WWE with James as this will be another place TSA will be at as they are at the FNL's and WWE is extremely popular.

Yes we should be told about these things Amanda but I was not the one getting a mammogram in this post. I just copied and pasted what was sent to me by my friend.

Hi Evelyn,
Thanks for the information and I agree, we should be told that there are protective guards. It is like we are suppose to be mind readers and know about all these safe guards. But the disturbing part about the assistants/technicians reply to your question to me was... She knew that you and other patients 'must' have the apron on and that is supplied without asking but this guard that it is to protect one's thyroid, patients have to ask for it! yet she goes along with the reason given to her and does not let common sense or morals tell her differently..!

Happy Friday everyone. I received this in my inbox today from a long time email buddy and thought it worth sharing. Hope everyone has a great weekend. :)

Recently, Dr. Oz had a show on the fastest growing cancer in women,
thyroid cancer. It was a very interesting program and he mentioned that the increase could possibly be related to the use of dental x-rays and mammograms. He demonstrated that on the apron the dentist puts on you for your dental x-rays there is a little flap that can be lifted up and wrapped around your neck.

Many dentists don't bother to use it. Also, there is something called a "thyroid guard" for use during mammograms. By coincidence, I had my yearly mammogram yesterday. I felt a little silly, but I asked about the guard and sure enough, the technician had one in a drawer. I asked why it wasn't routinely used. Answer: "I don't know. You have to ask for it."

Well, if I hadn't seen the show, how would I have known to ask?
We need to pass this on to our daughters, nieces, mothers and all our
female friends and husbands tell your wives !!

I've had mammograms Amanda, but not in a long time, not since I read an article about where a mammogram, where the technician uses too much pressure, can actually rupture a cancer carrying nodule and cause it to spread rapidly. I know of one case of that happening. As far as flying, I probably won't be flying that often, maybe 2-3 times a year at the most. I know there is so much we do not know but we also can't live our lives in constant fear of by what or where our bodies may be damaged. We all have to die of something, sometime down the road. :)

Hello Michael, and welcome to my forum. It's great to have you here. Since your video is almost an hour long, I'll have to wait until later to watch it. I'm a firm believer though, in using vitamin supplements, and so I will watch it, hopefully later today, and see if I can learn anything new.

No It is not fear Evelyn, I just will not comply. There is a big difference to me.
I will avoid being part of the system where possible, after all I have to live in the world but I do not have to be part of it and go along with these new extreme laws etc. - and no it is not a case of cutting off my nose to spite my face. I happily gave up everything that would be in the way of following Jesus and have never missed all the bells and whistles that I could have bought. Living simply is such a pleasure to me in the pursuit of happiness.
Yes I had read of too much pressure taking mammograms, there is just some things my inner voice tells me to avoid so I act upon it and these excruciatingly painful procedures is just another reason to stay away.
Dying is not something that I am fearful of either but I do not believe any Govt or people with billions of dollars to spend in the express purpose of causing harm to every human in the world. That makes me angry enough to get up and fight it and wave my banner about..LOL
I am so glad that so many people I speak with when I go to town are awake and aware, that definitely makes me feel more secure.
