Hi Luis thank you for posting such an interesting artist. It is so nice to read about them. I get a sense of peace when thinking about art.

Love and big hugs.

Barb :)

Hi Barb,

I am so glad that you have visited this forum. It is your own artistic spiritual self that resonates with the artist's in reading about him. He was a highly spiritual person and his works are filled with that inmortal feeling of peace that pervades everything down to the last atom of this universe for those who are ready for it.

Love and big hugs too,

Miguel

And here is another one that I particularly like (note: click to enlarge it).

Caspar David Friedrich - Moon rising over Sea (oil on canvas)

CONGRATULATIONS LUIS on this new beautiful art forum you have started. Thank you also for the invite that broght me here :)

What a visual treat this is, exquisite work you always find us such that we don't know and have not set our eyes on...now we have seen and relish it !!! awesome work. Thank you again for this.

I look forward to the next :))

Warm regards

Pauline

Dear Pauline,

You are too kind in your praise of this forum. I only try to bring artists and works relatively unknown to my visitors so that we all together can discover little known facts and aspects of their lives and doings, which makes both all the more interesting.

In fact, this topic is only now beginning and I hope to bring more and more paintings of Caspar David Friedrich which are progressively more symbolic, if possible, starting on my next post.

Thank you so much for showing up and posting.

Warm Regards too,

Luis Miguel G.

Having overheard somebody say about the people in Libya not being civilised I was led to think how hard the struggle for democracy was for most who now enjoy it.

It's only been less than a couple of centuries since my Irish and English ancestors were hanging people for minor theft. All nations suffer to ascend.

Because we all have different standards we tend still to generalize.

HOW DARE WE?

How dare we pick and choose

Just who we will help and who we will use?

We're led to believe that it's morally right

To get involved in anothers fight

.

But from all of the words the truth emerges

When an ageing politician, his conscience he purges

How dare we think that we know best

And that civilisation lies just in the West

Thank you for looking beyond the obvious and into the depths.
