Dear friends,

Whenever I learn about such heinous things as these you too are going to learn about right now in this and in my next post, I am more than ever sure that we are in the very last stages of this degraded era or, to be more precise, in what is known as the end times for this planet. To think that everything on Earth was sacred for the ancient cultures, and how far we have come from such an enlightned attitude towars all life and things these days!

Donald Trump Sons Photographed On Safari Killing Spree (Photos)

Graphic photos of Donald Trump’s two sons posing with the corpses of
wild animals they hunted during an African safari have animal activists outraged. Sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric are defending their actions, which include the mutilation of an elephant by cutting off its tail with a knife.

In August 2010, Donald Jr. and his brother Eric spent a week in Zimbabwe on a hunting trip organized by Hunting Legends, a South African company that specializes in big game safaris for wealthy clients.

During their hunt the Trump sons were photographed in offensive poses with a slain Cape buffalo, a waterbuck, a leopard, a civet cat, a crocodile, a kudu and an elephant. One picture showed a crocodile strung by its neck from a tree, another showed Donald Jr. propped up next to a buffalo while Eric posed with another buffalo with two rifles positioned in its horns.

PETA voiced their opinion about another photo that showed Donald Jr. holding the tail of an elephant in one hand and a knife in the other, with the body of the animal in the background.

“If the young Trumps are looking for a thrill, perhaps they should consider skydiving, bungee jumping, or even following in their anti-hunting father’s footsteps and taking down competing businesses – not wild animals,” PETA said in a statement.

The safari story was first reported by Wildlife Extra and the pictures made their way to YouTube.

Donald Jr. defended the actions of his brother and himself. He said on Twitter that the hunts are designed to keep down wildlife numbers and the money he spent is used for conservation.

“I am also not going to apologize because some eco nuts want me 2,” he wrote in one tweet. “I AM A HUNTER I don’t hide from that…Just love to be outdoors w a gun or bow.”

“I can assure you it was not wasteful – the villagers were so happy for the meat which they don’t often get to eat,” Trump added.

Johnny Rodriquez, of the Zimbabwe Conservation Taskforce disagreed with Donald Jr. He said the area where the men hunted was “sparsely populated” so it was highly unlikely the meat benefitted any villager.

Hunting Legends assured everyone the Trump’s safari was 100 percent legal. The number of animals allowed to be killed is controlled by the United Nations, but is supposed to be administered by individual countries. Many of these governments do not have the funds to keep track of how many animals are hunted each year and populations are diminishing. Elephant populations are one of these species and the African Black Rhinos are already considered nearly extinct.

Below are pictures of the Trump sons trophy kills (graphic)

Trump’s Wildlife Killing Spree: Their Next Vacation?

Anyone who viewed the horrifying photos of Donald Trump’s sons on a killing spree during an African safari will not soon forget the brutal and senseless way that these wealthy young men have chosen to spend their free time.

As head of the Harmony Fund international animal rescue charity, I often get field reports from my teammates in Africa who are faced with a constant battle with the lucrative safari business which caters to Americans who just can’t wait to shoot their first lion, gazelle or elephant. There’s a complete disconnect, an absolute apathy towards the suffering caused by the hunt or the orphans who lose their parents in the kill. And while Donald Trump Junior’s finest souvenir from his journey abroad is now the tail of an elephant, I’d like to contrast that against the way that others of us choose to spend our vacations.

If you, like I, need to clear your head after seeing the hard reality of the Trump’s travels, please enjoy this uplifting look at one very special vacation spot that caters to those who prefer a gentler form of tourism. It’s called the Rainsong Widlife Sanctuary and Retreat and is located on the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. And if the Trump men are reading this story, we invite you to travel here and see for yourself the extraordinary fulfillment that comes from an entirely different kind of relationship with the wild ones who make this world of ours one very beautiful place.

Strong, long 7.6 quake shakes Mexico City

Major 7.6 earthquake shakes Mexico

The temblor sends buildings swaying in Mexico City, but no major damage is reported. 'Walls began to thunder'

MEXICO CITY (AP) — A strong 7.6-magnitude earthquake hitMexico on Tuesday, shaking central and southern parts of the country and swaying buildings in Mexico City. Plaster fell from ceilings and windows broke in the center of the capital, but the president said there were no immediate reports of major damage.

The initial quake in Guerrero state was followed by a less powerful, magnitude-5.1 aftershock that also was felt in the capital.

Frightened workers and residents poured into the streets of the capital just minutes after noon local time (18:02 GMT). Telephone service was down in the city and throughout the area where the quake was felt.

"I have problems with pressure, I felt I was going to faint," said Rosa Maria Lopez Velazquez, 62, outside a mall in Mexico City.

The quake was felt strongly in southern Guerrero state, where the epicenter was located about 15 miles (25 kilometers) from the city of Ometepec. Neighboring Oaxaca state also shook heavily, including two aftershocks.

"It was very strong, but we didn't see anything fall," said Irma Ortiz, who runs a guesthouse in Oaxaca. She said their telephones are down, and that the quake shook them side-to-side.

The U.S. Geological Survey set the intensity of the first quake at 7.6 and said the epicenter was 11 miles underground. The survey set the aftershock at 5.1.

Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard's Twitter account said the water system and other "strategic services" were not experiencing problems.

Groups of women hugged and cried at Mexico City's Angel of Independence monument, where hundreds of people evacuated from office buildings said they never had felt such a strong earthquake. Others typed ferociously on their Blackberries.

Samantha Rodriguez, a 37-year old environmental consultant, was evacuated from the 11th floor on the Angel Tower office building.

"I thought it was going to pass rapidly but the walls began to thunder and we decided to get out," she said.

Mexico City's airport was closed for a short time but there was no damage to runways and operations were returning to normal.

In Oaxaca, Sylvia Valencia was teaching Spanish to five adult students at the Vinigulaza language school when the earthquake hit.

"Some of us sat down, others ran out," she said. "It was hard, it was strong and it was long."

After the shaking stopped, however, she said they found no damage, not in their own classrooms, nor outside in the historical center of the city, so they went back to class.

Celia Galicia, who works at the U.S. consular office in Oaxaca, had just flown in from Mexico City when it hit.

Watch Yahoo! video here

She said there was panic in the airport, and a dash for the doors. But she said that she saw no damage at the airport and no one was hurt. She says one building in downtown Oaxaca appears to be damaged and has been evacuated.

She added that they've had two strong aftershocks, and that in downtown
Oaxaca most people are out on the street at this point.

"It started shaking badly," she said.

This is scary!

Mexican Earthquake Coincides With Drill Based Around Exact Same Scenario

Bizarre Coincidence: Government-run simulation also had earthquake measuring 7.9 on Richter scale

Fears amongst some that governments are experimenting with technology that can trigger seismic events have heightened following the bizarre occurrence of yesterday’s Mexican earthquake coinciding with a government drill that was scheduled to take place at precisely the same time simulating an earthquake of the exact same magnitude.

The video above documents how Mexican Civil Protection (CP) authorities had planned to stage a response drill to an earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale on March 20 at 12 noon local time, which is precisely when an earthquake hit Mexico yesterday.

After having initially been reported as 7.9 on the Richter scale, the earthquake was later revised to measure 7.4.

The exercise was being run under the auspices of Mexico’s State Emergency Committee, the government department tasked with responding to natural disasters.

“As part of preparations for the next megasimulacro March 20, state authorities of Civil Protection (CP) performed exercise tests before a cabinet to simulate the response to a contingency situation, an earthquake measuring 7.9 degrees on the scale Richter,” states a translated report out of Mexican newspaper El Heraldo, which ran the story on March 2.

A poster to publicize this “megasimularco” was also published by authorities, announcing the date of the drill to take place on March 20.

Another Mexican newspaper, La Voz del Norte, also reported on the “megasimularco,” on March 13, noting that three departments of “government are prepared to carry out the Mega Drill to be held on March 20 at about 12 o’clock.”

Yesterday’s earthquake hit precisely at 12:02PM local time in the region of Oaxaca, according to the USGS.

The bizarre coincidence has prompted claims that the event could have been a seismic experiment.

The fact that governments have access to seismic-triggering technology is not a conspiracy theory, it’s a scientific fact.

Weather modification expert Ben Livingston, a former Navy Physicist who briefed President Lyndon B. Johnson on the effectiveness of weather control back in the 1960′s during the Vietnam era, has documented that as far back as the early 1950′s the United States was funneling money into programs aimed at using the weather as a weapon during the cold war.

Moreover, in an April 1997 speech to the University of Georgia, Athens, then US Secretary of Defense William Cohen spoke of the threat of an “eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.”

For many years, suspicions have circulated around the purpose of the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP), an ionospheric research program jointly funded by the US Air Force, the US Navy, the University of Alaska and DARPA. In his underground bestseller Angels Don’t Play This HAARP, author Nick Begich summarizes the evidence that suggests HAARP is involved in weather control for nefarious purposes.

Scientists at NASA have discovered “A close link between electrical disturbances on the edge of our atmosphere and impending quakes on the ground below,” which has led to claims that earthquakes are being artificially induced as a form of modern warfare by HAARP.

Human activity has also been confirmed as a source of earthquakes. Changes in underground pressure at a geothermal power plant in Switzerland caused a 3.4 earthquake in 2007.

Whether or not yesterday’s earthquake was a seismic experiment gone awry or not, the fact that it coincided precisely with a government drill based around the an identical scenario, even down to the exact same magnitude of the earthquake that was initially reported, is a bizarre occurrence.

As Food Crisis Looms in Niger, Lives Hang in the Balance

NOTE: This is a guest blog post from Leila Bourahla, Niger Country Director at Concern Worldwide.

For the third time in less than a decade, the Sahel region of West Africa could once again face a food crisis. The most urgent question now is not whether a response is needed, but when it will happen and at what scale. But perhaps the most important question is: what can we do to reduce the likelihood that we will be having the same conversation, facing the same life-or-death consequences, next year, or the year after?

We saw the deadly costs of delayed intervention last year in the Horn of Africa, where widespread hunger in Ethiopia and Kenya and famine in Somalia led to the deaths of as many as 100,000 people, according to figures collected by the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DfID). While the early warning signs from East Africa were far more severe than that from West Africa (in Niger, food production was 10-15 percent below average in 2011, but was an estimated 75 percent below average in Somalia), we should take them no less seriously, particularly when it comes to the value of early and preventative action.

In Niger alone, 2.6 million people today do not have enough food to meet their basic nutritional needs — they are living with hunger on a scale most of us will never experience. The Tahoua region is the most affected, where Concern has worked since 2003 and responded to previous food crises in 2005, 2008, and 2009. And now again in 2012, nearly 24 percent of the population is expected to be facing severe food insecurity. After a poor harvest last year, food supplies are rapidly declining, with many families expecting to completely run out of food by as early as March unless they receive immediate assistance. For communities that raise livestock as their primary assets and source of food, there is less pasture and water to keep their animals –and sole livelihood — alive.

Low food supplies means higher prices for basic staples, such as millet. Cereal prices are now an alarming 40-50 percent higher than they were last year. This, coupled with a loss of income from failed crops and weakened, unhealthy livestock, could make food an unaffordable luxury for Niger’s poorest. In addition to increasing the risk of malnutrition, the rising food prices have other consequences. Children often drop out of school because they need to help their families run the household and earn income. Families may also be forced to sell assets for quick cash or leave rural communities to find work in urban areas and send money home, travelling as far as Libya, the Ivory Coast, and Nigeria.

In response to the clear early warning signs, Concern is rolling out a short-term emergency response program to give the most vulnerable people in Tahoua access to cash so that they can buy food and meet other basic survival needs. The program includes cash-for-work projects, in which Concern will involve more than 3,018 community members from villages in Tahoua to prepare the land for the next agricultural season. Concern will also distribute emergency cash transfers using mobile phone technology and manually, reaching 6,350 extremely poor households. As we get closer to the lean season, Concern is also maintaining “surge capacity” to screen and treat children for malnutrition and to build the capacity of local health facilities to provide emergency nutrition treatment and services.
