DHS To Bring “Criminal Charges”: Mayors And Sanctuary City Leaders Targeted As Power Move Shocks Left

Sam Di Gangi by

The Department of Homeland Security is ready to punish California for breaking the law.

When someone just decides that the law should be different than is and breaks it, they pay the price if caught doing so. For instance, the Conservative Daily Post just highlighted only last week the case of a rapper who decided to flaunt that he sold drugs and got arrested for it. According to the Constitution, an unjust law can be changed, but not broken. Those who are found to have broken the law often sit behind bars for doing so.

Why is it that cities who break the federal law face no similar punishments, however? Why is it always the little guy who gets the shaft while our leaders can do almost anything and hardly ever see punishment? They shouldn’t, and as Hannity (dot com) confirms, Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen has said, “that her department is investigating whether they can bring criminal charges against mayors and leaders of sanctuary cities and states for defying federal law.

It is also said that the Department of Justice is “reviewing what avenues may be available.” There are many people sitting in prison cells today for doing far less who likely very happy to hear this news.

If California is going to break the law, Mr. Trump (pictured) had little choice but to punish them for it.

As the Washington Times observes, this announcement comes only days after new (and illegal) “sanctuary city” laws make it all but impossible to deport those who did not apply and should not be here.

On top of this, it is also reported that Nielsen said, “What I was struck with, frankly as I’m sure you were as well, was the general profanity that was used in the room by almost everyone” in reference to recent talks about DACA and immigration. She did not find that Mr. Trump was speaking quite profanely, but that everyone present was.

Perhaps that is because the frustration has reached a tipping point. Americans do not want those who did not apply to be here in the nation for any reason. If those from other lands wish to dwell here, let them be sent home and told to apply for the honor of doing so. After doing so, they will likely be welcomed.

Voters do not want to keep seeing the economy dwindled and held down due to illegal migration.

Also, a lot of citizens of the U.S. want it known that they are not allowed to just walk into Canada, Mexico, or any other nation, so it should not be allowed to happen here, either. We can’t afford the costs any more than they can.

No, but nations do.

That is one very big reason why Donald Trump won the election and Mrs. Clinton went on a book tour. So certainly, there is going to be some heated language.

The words may become even more blazing when California is faced with new fines for their illegal activity, too. Just like democrats who tried to thwart civil rights laws and had to be corrected with the National Guard, these sanctuary leaders will learn soon enough that the country doesn’t want their ways.

CNN Turk Reports ‘American Sniper’ Star Killed in Syria

January 28, 2018 at 6:21 am

(ZHE) On Friday a Middle East regional CNN network reported that American Sniper Chris Kyle had been killed while embedded with US-backed Kurdish forces in Syria by invading Turkish troops, and the story went viral. Or maybe they meant to say actor Bradley Cooper?

Though priding itself for its brand recognition in setting the agenda for accurate mainstream news and top notch investigative journalism around the globe, CNN has once again embarrassed itself as its sister network, CNN Turk, fell for what should have been an easy to recognize prank. At the end of this week false reports that two US Special Forces members had been killed in Syria while embedded with American-backed Kurdish units fighting in the northwest Aleppo district of Afrin in Syria spread wildly through major Turkish media after CNN Turk reported it.

The only problem is that the identified US soldier purported to be featured in a photo circulating on social media which is the basis of CNN Turk’s story was actually none other than “American Sniper” actor Bradley Cooper. That’s right, as one classic and sadly all too literally serious headline from Newsweek reads – CNN Turkey Reports ‘American Sniper’ Bradley Cooper Killed In Syria, U.S. Military Denies.

And yes, the Pentagon was forced to issue a quick and urgent denial of the story through US Coalition spokesman Colonel Ryan Dillon, who said Friday: “Reports of two US-Coalition members killed in Afrin are FALSE. Completely UNTRUE.”

Reports of two US-Coalition members killed in Afrin are FALSE. Completely UNTRUE. @CJTFOIR efforts focused on supporting our SDF partners aggressively hunt remaining ISIS pockets east of Euphrates near Abu Kamal.

CNN Turkey, which is owned by the Turner Broadcasting System Europe and Doğan Media Group, was fooled into believing the satirical report which appears to have started among pro-Kurdish social media.

However, the prank should have been easy to recognize considering all early social media reports were based on a photograph said to be a US Special Forces member named Eddie Bragdon who went by the Kurdish nom de guerre “Zana Rizgar”. But the photograph was so obviously a shot from the 2014 film, American Sniper, based on the life of the late Navy SEAL veteran Chris Kyle.

According to Newsweek, the fake story began circulating when a pro-YPG account called “Bird Person” tweeted the following on Thursday:

Eski Amerikan özel kuvvetleri askeri YPG'li Zana Rizgar kod adlı Eddie Bragdon Efrîn Buseya dağında yaşanan çatışma esnasında yaşamını yitirdi yolun yolumuza ışık tutacak Şehid Namirin

Newsweek:

“In what’s believed to be the original claim, an account supportive of the Kurdish YPG reported the death of U.S. Special Forces member Eddie Bragdon, a.k.a. Zana Rizgar, instead of the actual individual pictured: U.S. actor Bradley Cooper in the film ‘American Sniper.’ The user later claimed that the post was intended to be satirical and criticized Turkish media for picking it up literally.”

Amidst the propaganda war now raging between Turkish and pro-Kurdish media as Turkey continues its ‘Operation Olive Branch’ inside northwest Syria, both Turkish nationalists – who celebrated the supposed “deaths” of US troops embedded with Syrian Kurds – and Kurdish sources, promoted the story on social media.

Yet from the moment the story spread social media users were quick to point out the obvious origins of the photo. But not before CNN Turk featured the story.

The story of “Eddie Bragdon’s” death was featured briefly on CNNTurk.com but was quickly taken down:

And here’s the story tweeted out by CNN Turk’s verified account: The headline reads “Former US Special Forces military was killed in the ranks of the YPG.”

It appears a number of Turkish military analysts also promoted the story, which also gave it momentum before it landed on CNN Turk’s homepage.

Listen, this is hilarious.
A Kurdish tweep intentionality makes up a story of “ex-American SOF, YPG fighter killed in Afrin” to troll Turkish nationalists. It makes it all the way to Turkish CNN! Top notch investigative journalism!

Many of the dozens of articles which were subsequently written by Turkish and regional outlets based on the CNN reporting have now since taken offline.

The initial pro-Kurdish social media account from which the fake news originated is now celebrating the fact that it successfully trolled CNN and other mainstream outlets, again tweeting the original Bradley Cooper photo but now with the caption (in Turkish), “Smile for the camera!”

We give it a 10 for some top notch trolling. For CNN it’s about par for the course.

Major snowfall sweeps through Iran, brings traffic to standstill (PHOTOS, VIDEOS)

This year’s first snow storm battered much of Iran Saturday night, causing airport closures, disrupting traffic and shutting schools across the country.

Having started on Thursday the snowstorm peaked late Saturday, affecting two-thirds of the population in more than 20 provinces, Press TV reported. The north of country was hit hardest, with some areas receiving 80 centimeters of snow.

Two international airports in the capital were closed – Imam Khomeini International Airport and Mehrabad – and Tehran-bound flights were diverted to airports in Isfahan and Mashhad, according to Tasnim news agency. The airports resumed work Sunday morning after clearing runways of snow.

Thousands of motorists were stuck on inter-city highways, with rescuers from the Iranian Red Crescent Society, emergency services and ambulance rushing to help stranded commuters. Those traveling by train also experienced delays.

All schools were closed in Tehran, with Mayor Mohammad Ali Najafi asking young residents to help municipality workers shake off snow from trees after several branches collapsed on electricity cables and cars under the weight.

Netanyahu & Putin to discuss better coordination on Syria & Iran in Moscow

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Monday to discuss ways to strengthen coordination between Russian and Israeli air forces, so as to avoid confrontation in Syria.

Netanyahu’s visit to Russia is scheduled to last only five hours. According to the Kremlin, the two leaders plan to discuss“Russian-Israeli cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas as well as some pressing international and regional issues, including the situation in the Middle East and in Syria.”

Netanyahu and Putin will exchange views on ways of“strengthening coordination between the Israeli Army and the Russian armed forces on Syria, as well as a whole series of issues important for the security of Israel,” Netanyahu said, as cited by TASS.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the Israeli prime minister is also set to discuss Iran’s involvement in Syria.

Earlier this month Israel launched three attacks on military targets in Syria, using jets and ground-to-ground missiles, the Syrian army reported. Damascus also claimed that it has shot down one Israeli jet and one missile. “We have a longstanding policy to prevent the transfer of game-changing weapons to Hezbollah in Syrian territory. This policy has not changed. We back it up, if necessary, with action,” Netanyahu said at an event with NATO officials in Jerusalem, as quoted by the Times of Israel.

In November, Netanyahu said he made it crystal clear to Washington and Moscow that Israel would continue to “act in Syria.” His statement came after Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin reaffirmed joint efforts to support a ceasefire in the Syrian region bordering Israel and Jordan. Tel Aviv has been pushing the US and Russia to deny Iran, Hezbollah, and Shia militias any permanent bases in Syria, and to keep them away from the border with the Golan Heights.

“We are controlling our borders, we are protecting our country and we will continue to do so,” Netanyahu said in remarks to members of his right-wing Likud party, as quoted by Reuters. “I have also informed our friends, firstly in Washington and also our friends in Moscow, that Israel will act in Syria, including in southern Syria, according to our understanding and according to our security needs,” he stated.

Last month, the Israeli Defense Forces launched several missiles at a strategic target close to Damascus, with Israeli and Arab media reporting it as an airstrike. Syrian state TV said “military positions” were targeted by surface-to-surface missiles.

Israel had previously carried out airstrikes targeting Syrian territory, claiming to be targeting positions of the militant group Hezbollah or allegedly retaliating to stray projectiles that occasionally cross the border into the Israeli-occupied side of the Golan Heights.

Things went wrong in November, when an Israeli attack hit a copper factory in the Syrian province of Homs, prompting Damascus to urge condemnation of Israel’s actions at the UN.

Israeli officials have long accused Iran of trying to establish a military foothold in Syria, where Tehran has been supporting Damascus’ fight against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) and other terrorists. According to Netanyahu, however, the goal is“using Syria as a base from which to destroy Israel.”

Additionally, the two leaders’ agenda includes a visit to the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, where they will take part in the events relating to International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the anniversary of the complete lifting of the Nazi siege of Leningrad.

The Russian president and the Israeli prime minister last met in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi on August 23, 2017. On March 10 of last year, they held talks in Moscow.

During his terms in office as prime minister – in 1996-1999 and from 2009 till now – Netanyahu has visited Russia 12 times.
