I'm still not quite sure what the scenario here is. If he keeps sending new messages or if the same message appears even after closing it.

The second might be simply a bug. To deal with this bug you can just clear the cookies. The chat is based on cookies and it remembers what has been written between the pages. Clearing the cookies and in some instances closing the browser window after this will clear the chat conversation.

Let me know if this is what you are experiencing.

It says "Disable instant messages."

We would rather fix the bug if we understood how this is happening.
If anyone can give some hints, like Jim did, this would allow us to track it down.

When this is disable not only is the instant chat gone, so it the activity update as well in the left lower side of the browser. It does disable the Instant chat too. But see the recent posts is a feature I think many like. Is there a way to separate them? I use FF usually for ALP.
