Hi Roger!

I really like this forum and the great questions, suggestions and replys!

Thanks for having it! I still haven't come up with a question or suggestion!

To show how great Adlandpro is I posted a thread on the Alexa rankings
of Adlandpro...

I also wrote a review of Adlandpro for Alexa... saw some familiar adland folks had already done the same!

My vote is in! Adlandpro it tops!

Hello Pat,

When you are copying and pasting, you assume that html which you copied is complete. Unfortunately this is not the case all the time. When you highlight an element in one window this doesn't mean that all html you are copying is complete. This is due to different standards used in different programs. This editor is not responsible for user producing malformed html, all it does it shows to you what it can interpret from provided html and if html has missing tags, you even won't be able to fix it.

As an example consider translation from one language to another. If I translate word from one language wrong to another, the other person will understand something different than what I'm trying to communicate. The result might be total confusion.

This is the best I can do to explain it.

Editor is meant to produce html from scratch. If you do it that way, it will always work.

In fact we have disabled some ways of copying to minimize those problems.

Bogdan

Bogdan, that was a good explanation and since most of us are amateurs when it comes to programming, it should help.

When I present my new art exhibits, just for example, I will do the presentation in Word even with the pictures. I then copy the enitre section and paste in the editor here. I go through it and replace the photos with links where I have them uploaded. It works well for me. I also use IE 8.

One problem I have encountered is when people trying copying from another response here instead of using quote, they copy the format also. I had this happen in Art Gallery and I tried really hard to correct it without losing the response. I did but it was still messy. The best thing to do in that case is delete the post but you don't want to upset the person posting...

This is all GREAT INFORMATION and I appreciate it. I did as you said and logged out and in several times - I found about 8 old messages and still have more!

I hope we can link to Adland's Garden of Friendship from here. I will post this forum link over there. We have some videos that are really helpful also.

Thank you Bogdan, Roger and everyone joining in!

Sara

When Copying and pasting text from web pages to the editor of any site, you should paste in note pad or text pad, then copy and paste.

Your formatting, paragraphs are kept due to the lack of erroneous HTML code.

As for your pictures centering you control the alignment via the variable on the picture editor that opens up. I found using this corrected the issue for me.

As for Myrna's centering issue, I believe she was referring to her blog.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh. I just copied "part" of an ad from a previous post for my Jerky Direct business and it all piled together. I needed new material and none of the paragraphs formed.

Copy & pasting is PART OF LIFE AND BUSINESS. You can't get away with not using it. We can not type new ads all the time. I do NOT like to have one HUGE paragraph when I post "fun" poems, stories and our advertisements. It looks very unprofessional.

We DID NOT encounter this mess in "old" Adland. Sometimes even posting pictures gets messed up. I often like to center the picture and it ends up on the left hand side. This is even when I create new copy.

This is one of the problems I encounter on Adland now and I'm in agreement with Roger.

Pat (and I'm using IE. I rarely get on Adland when I'm on Firefox)

Jim,

I'm not to brilliant about these things. Can you try to explain that bit another way?

I don't understand either Roger. I'm talking about why notes that look "perfectly fine" and have been posted to Adland.... can't be reposted again at later time.

Notes from forums and notes from our personal email become all mish-mashed. If they came out okay the first time.... why when we copy/paste don't they look proper?
