THE ORACLE REPORT

"OWLS ON DECK" TAKEN BY WISE OWL BROOKE

Thursday, June 11, 2015

Third Quarter Moon Phase: revise, realign

Moon in Aries

Goddess of Wisdom: Tara (Goddess Who Guides)

God of Will: Ian (God of The East)

Skill: expand restrictive expectations; lighten up

Catalysts for Change: trying to take more than one's share, fear of change, insecurities about appearance/age, holding back from participation, special privileges of the few, trying to fool others, injustice, manipulating groups, complaining without trying to improve, trying to incite chaos, pretending to be something else

True Alignments: innovation, spontaneity, celebration, joining together, natural rhythms, reversing and releasing struggles, shifts in relationships, true beauty, true providence, patience, kindness, humility, enjoyment, compromising, combining the best elements of two things into something new

Sabian Symbol for the Lunar Month: "a mature woman reawakened to romance"

Sabian Symbol for the Solar-Lunar Year: "the music of the spheres"

In astrology, when a planet "stations direct" it appears to move forward in the sky after a period of appearing to move backwards. The planet Mercury stations direct today, and with it, communications, electronics, and travel ease from the mayhem that has surrounded them since May 19.

Mercury stations direct at the degree of the Sabian symbol of "a radical magazine, asking for action, displays a sensational front page." During the retrograde period (May 19 to yesterday), the energy for reform and breaking free of constraints has been the goal. The "sensational" nature of this energy may explain why many more people have reported that this particular Mercury retrograde was more intense. (An expanded explanation would be that technology is morphing to be more of service to humanity - not the other way around - and consciousness is driving things back toward more human-centered interactions.)

Is there any doubt that the notion of reform is front and center?

On this last day of the Third Quarter Moon phase, all things point to revision, realignment, rectification, and reform.

The Moon will be at the same location in the sky as Uranus at 4:45 pm ET/8:45 pm UT, delivering another strike of energy for revision and realignment, especially to any situations that may have seemed hopeless or seemed to have gone cold. Jupiter is in effect with this also (Moon and Uranus trine Jupiter), and Jupiter expands everything. So there is a great deal of energy to revive and revise and all those other "r" words alliterated above, and it is in effect all day. (Take extra care when driving today and give wide berth. Accidents abound with all of these energetics.)

A note for consideration: Reform is produced from new ways of looking at things. In the fifth dimensional state of consciousness, we can look at things from multiple angles. When we do this we start to bend time and space. As time benders, if we were to travel back in time to a time of a great battle, all the while knowing that the battle was already won, would our experience still be one of battle?

Maybe it would be an honor.

The wings of wise owls encircle the world and join with higher spiritual forces to resound the harmonic realignment with the value and love of LIFE. Anything that stands against that crumbles.

Thank you for supporting The Oracle Report!

Sigmund Fraud: These 4 Young People Are the Voice of the Next Revolution

June 11, 2015 By Graham Dewyea

podium1-300x169Revolution is one of those words that has a different meaning for just about everyone.

When adults go against the grain and demonstrate signs of non-conformity, society has a sliding scale of methods to deal with them. ‘Grown-ups’ are pretty keen at ignoring or ridiculing their brethren should someone’s opinion vary too far from the norm. We’ve developed a tattle-tell culture that now encourages us to alert ‘authorities’ when someone is behaving outside of the regularly accepted standards.

If a person gets too uppity about how society works, maybe getting too vocal at a town meeting or asking too many provocative questions of an ‘authority figure,’ it is perfectly acceptable nowadays to sick the police on them, who are quick to apply compliance techniques like threats, tazers, handcuffs, arrest, or even a good old-fashioned beat down. If someone really gets out of line and digs too deeply into the control structures of our modern world, they might wind up as a ‘targeted individual,’ identified as ‘terrorists’, investigated criminally, put on ‘no-fly’ lists, audited by the IRS, or maybe they’ll just disappear.

As adults, we’ve already been conditioned to accept violence against us and the ostracization by others if our attitudes and opinions defy the herd. We’ve been programmed to look at everything, but to act on nothing. We might care about what happens to all those fracking protesters and civil libertarians who get scooped up by the police, but most of us are unlikely to do anything about it.

But, when a child exhibits that profoundly beautiful human tendency to stubbornly resist being corralled into a one-size-fits-all thought box, which many call the matrix, the clampdowns on their individuality seem comical, absurd, and grossly over-measured. Children still have the power to impress upon us an innocence that most still revere, and the thought of a 250 pound sergeant-at-arms rushing to accost and taze a kid for speaking out, still, thankfully, doesn’t sit well with people, even with most 250 pound cops.

When an ‘authority figure’ emotionally, psychologically or physically brutalizes a child for exhibiting the not-so-common common sense and an earnest passion for freedom and right to knowledge that we all should have, the thought police look comically absurd, to even the most robotic members of society.

Children are in many ways smarter, more creative, and more sensible than adults,as their perception of the world is not yet fully stinted by conditioning, arrogance, conveniences, bias, and the pressure to conform and identify with a group. Because of this, children are able to make some amazingly apt criticisms of our society, demonstrating that cultural demand for rigid conformity is not infallible.

Here are several examples of children who are both inspiringly perceptive and inspiringly brave because they are drawing attention to obvious problems in our world, and are suggesting lifestyle changes that are worthy of consideration and exploration. What will the elite do when the children step up and lead the revolt?

Xiuhtezcatl Martinez on Mother Earth

Xiuhtezcatl Martinez is a youth warrior on a mission to shift human consciousness to respect and protect Mother Earth. Youth director of The Earth Guardians, hip hop artist and public speaker, Xiuhtezcatl spreads the message of our ancestral connection to indigenous cultures. Exposed to indigenous ideology of universal connectedness since an early age, he has a message for all of us. Watch his inspiring speech at a Bioneers Youth Leadership conference, followed by a personal interview that gives you a glimpse into the mind of this 14 year old.

“The problem that we are facing today is the human consciousness, the way that we relate to the world, the way that we see the planet, the way that we relate to each other as human beings…I’m on a mission not to change the world but do my part in shifting human consciousness.” ~ Xiuhtezcatl Martinez

Logan LaPlante on Education

Logan LaPlante is best known for his TEDx Talk, which he made at age 13, on the topic of hacking education. He makes a very critical point during his talk about the importance that society places on schooling, but without including training in the practices of being happy and healthy as part of a child’s education. To children, this type of education is unnatural because children are more connected to true, carefree happiness. The traditional schooling approach does not place sufficient value on lifestyle choices that will help you live a happy and healthy life, such as diet and nutrition, time in nature, relaxation, stress management, service to others, and so forth.

During his talk, Logan brings up a great point that everything is up for being ‘hacked’ – everything can be approached with a new mindset to make it work better…even education. This type of creative approach to life is coming from a boy whose mom was chastised by her friends for pulling Logan out of traditional school and into homeschool.

An avid skier, Logan continues to speak publicly and was recently a keynote at the Innovation Arizona Summit. He has enrolled in Forest Charter School, which allows for one full school day of skiing a week, making it popular with many of Tahoe’s sport athletes. Logan’s TEDx speech wasn’t about promoting homeschooling but about taking a new approach to education. What does Logan have to say today?

“I get bummed at all the people that have turned my talk into a fight about homeschooling. They missed the point. It’s the mindset and what you make priority. So for Generation Z, let’s make learning the skills and practices of being happy and healthy just as important as learning science.” ~ Logan LaPlante

Rachel Parent on GMOs

In 2013, a spry 14-year old, Rachel Parent, challenged Kevin O’Leary of CBC News to a debate on the GMO movement as a response to O’Leary’s TV statement, “I have an answer to these people. Stop eating. Then we can get rid of them.” What a jerk.

Rachael doesn’t see herself as a lobbyist for any movement or organization… she is simply part of the growing anti-GMO voices among even the youth. The topic of her public speeches since 2013 – our right to know what is in our food – is the basis for her campaign. The youth of our country is not only faced with today’s decision on which food to eat; they have to consider the potential long-term impacts on their future families, nature, and our global ecosystem.

This brave girl faces O’Leary with poise and a steady dedication to her beliefs, and even though O’Leary continues to try to pigeon-hole her as self-absorbed and anti-science (which clearly she is not), Rachel clearly wins the debate. He repeatedly questions her about global food shortages and Biotech’s claim that GMOs can end world hunger, while refusing to discuss the issue of Rachel’s campaign: GMO food labeling. This is a typical approach by mainstream media to silence dissent, and this young revolutionary sets an example for the rest of us.

Over the last two years, Rachel has continued to be the voice of youth about the right to know what’s in our food. Visit her website at www.Kidsrighttoknow.com

“At first I didn’t know what to do, and as I researched more and more, I became seriously worried about the long-term risks of GMOs. I didn’t realize at the time that there was much more at stake than our health. There is our freedom of choice, our environment, our bees and butterflies, our entire eco-system, and our future!” ~ Rachel Parent

Sydney Smoot on Standardized Testing

Speaking in front of her local school board, 4th grader Sydney Smoot eloquently rips standardized testing in a riveting and brutally honest presentation. The tiny nine-year-old brought the Brooksville Elementary Schoolhouse Board to its feet earlier this year when she boldly tore into the new Florida Standards Assessment, then receiving a standing ovation. Even though she could be barely see over the podium, her thoughts on the matter remind us that children should have a say in how they are treated in public education.

Common Core education and standardized testing are an affront to the individuality and interests of children, and as adults, we’d better take heed that at least some young people understand this and simply will not tolerate it.

What to Do When Children Revolt

There are signs that the best of us – the children, the youth, our future – are waking up and seeing through the scam of modern life. They are understanding that the world we are creating for them will unjust, unfair, and uninhabitable, and they are beginning to revolt. These young people deserve our respect and our ear, and we should listen and respond to their concerns about how our actions today will impact their future.

Peter Borys: Heart Consciousness: Transforming to the Light Mind and Divine Body

June 11, 2015 By Graham Dewyea

about-meOnly from within heart consciousness can we transform to the Light mind of intuitive knowing and doing. A Light mind of pure knowing and action that brings infinite love and creativity into this dimension is needed to enable the Divine to fully express in the physical frequencies of consciousness.

In this article, we will discuss the role of the Light mind in embodying the Divine infinite consciousness within the physical body on Earth. We will describe the Light mind as frequencies that transcend the consciousness of the physical body, emotions, thought, and etheric energy, yet remain as a slower oscillation of the Divine for the purpose of incarnate experience. Thus, the Light mind is not our full expression of our soul and spirit being of Divine infinite consciousness.

However, the Light mind is vital in experiencing and expressing the Divine infinite consciousness within the physical body consciousness of matter. The transforming of the dualistic thinking mind will not occur without the awakening and recognition of what we term “heart consciousness.” The consciousness of the heart is the awareness that we are an evolving soul, a psychic being, and a nonlinear and nonlocal multidimensional being. The shift to heart awareness brings our consciousness to its center which enables a profound recognition of the unity of all life. From heart consciousness we experience our essence and expression of love and creativity.

Transforming the Fear-Based Conditioning of Mind and Body

Heart consciousness is the opening to transforming the fear-based consciousness that is the conditioning of the lower thinking mind, emotional energies, and their expression in the physical cellular consciousness. The fear-based consciousness of conflict, control, and separation, occurs from the thinking mind operating system of the human mind. The mind closely interfaces with the physical body, but also transcends the physical frequencies of matter.

However, we are not directly our mind. The mind is an organizing system for experiencing the soul and spirit incarnate life in the body. The human Divine nature is a Divine infinite consciousness of spirit expressing as soul. Heart consciousness is our awareness within the body to awaken and ascend to Divine consciousness, and embody the Divine within the physical body.

It is paramount that in order to embody the Divine infinite consciousness in the physical, we must transform the current thinking mind to a knowing Light mind. The fear-based thinking mind uses the brain’s fight, flight, and freeze systems. These systems operate through the limbic and hind brain. The reactions to this dense encoding process utilize the basic emotional energies. The mind’s conditioning of the trauma response with the emotional energies effect the freedom of the Divine infinite consciousness within the body.

The restrictive energy remains within all physical systems of the body which effect the harmonic flow of cellular regeneration. Because of the fear-based operating system of the thinking mind and accompanying emotional system, the human exhibits a shock response that restricts, anchors, and does not easily relinquish high arousal energies of the nervous system. Therefore, this mind loop continually replays past frozen states of energy that are conditioned through the body’s chemical and cellular system.

The current 3D human incarnation of limitation is experienced from the thinking mind and emotional systems through this conditioning of the body. With this mind and emotional system in place, the human cannot ground and live from Divine infinite consciousness in the body. The true human being is an infinite Divine consciousness of freedom, harmony, love, and creativity.

In order for the Divine infinite consciousness of love and creativity to fully express through our incarnate being, we need to transform to a new mind. This is a move beyond the fear-based analytical thinking mind to the knowing Light mind that organizes consciousness and intention beyond thought. In fact, the Light mind also organizes consciousness and intention beyond emotion. Here, the Light mind unites with the soul’s feeling experience through the body. This level of bodily awareness is a totality of feeling that combines interior and exterior sensation. The freedom of creative intention that is the Light mind is pure knowing and feeling.

Beyond the Thinking Mind to the Mind of Light

We must transform the inharmonic frequencies of the lower nature of the thinking mind, emotional energies, and their imbalanced effect on the physical cellular consciousness in order to embody the Divine infinite consciousness in the body on Earth. The awakening to heart consciousness is our center of awareness where we are evolving the mind to a higher frequency mind of Light. The changing of the mind’s operating system works in synchrony with the transformation of DNA, the nervous system, the hormonal system, and the cellular consciousness of the physical body. In this way, the body will be capable of experiencing, expressing, and responding to life on Earth in harmonic resonance with the Divine consciousness. This is the embodiment of the Divine through all levels of our being. Thus, the unity of all levels is the fullness of heart consciousness as Divine unity.

The awareness of heart consciousness allows us to awaken our unlimited infinite being which enables the change of the mind’s operating system. The awareness and change only occurs from the interior of consciousness. All external frequencies through the material world using the five senses, thinking mind, and emotional energy can guide us on our journey, but the transformation of mind and embodiment of Divine consciousness can only occur through an awareness that is beyond this level. The practice of meditation is the only sustained way to shift from the thinking conditioned mind to the knowing Light mind. In this way, anchor in heart consciousness and restore awareness to our nonlocal and multidimensional being.

The awakening of awareness to the higher mind enables us to move beyond the analytical thinking mind and conditioned emotions by releasing the fear that keeps the energy restricted. Meditation consistently oscillates the brain frequencies in alpha and theta range. These frequencies relate to consciousness being more harmonic and in the flow of knowing, love, and creativity. While consciousness can change at any moment in the present of now, it is mainly the persistent inner work of the meditative awareness, self-observation, and inner feeling that evolves the consciousness frequencies of energy in the body.

Light Mind as an Organizing Field for Divine Consciousness in the Body

For humanity to live the Divine infinite consciousness in the body, we must evolve the operating system of the mind. This change will fully enable the evolution to a higher capable nervous system in unity with heart, higher frequency DNA, and a harmonic crystalline body. We fully organize our awareness of heart consciousness in the body when we heal all trauma conditioning and evolve from a dualistic analytical mind to a mind of light. The Light mind is the organizing field of information frequency that mediates the Divine infinite consciousness in the physical dimension of experience.

Our Divine consciousness is nonlocal and multidimensional. It is unlimited and beyond time, and exists at once on Earth, the solar system, galaxy, universe, multidimensions, and infinite spiritual realms. It is a being of loving, knowing, feeling, and creating. When the soul and spirit is incarnate in the human physical body, the Light mind is the organization field for Divine consciousness to experience multidimensionality in the physical consciousness vehicle of the body.

Through the Light mind, which opens from the power of the heart, our consciousness can communicate telepathically, locate in teleportation, regenerate in harmonic cellular consciousness, and creatively manifest intention. The Light mind is so finely in unitary resonance with our Divine infinite consciousness that ultimately the mind appears to seamlessly emanate our spirit of Divine consciousness through a physical body. The evolving embodiment of the Divine in the body is the fullness of heart consciousness.

David Ian Cowan: The Resolve to Awaken: Recognizing Others as Extensions of Ourselves

June 11, 2015 By Graham Dewyea

cowan-david-ianI must decide to see each relationship I encounter as first a relationship with my Self. I can then own my own will and power of choice, and can act from true intelligence. I begin to see you, no matter what your behavior may appear to be on the surface, as my perfect teacher, even as a savior from my own illusions.

I have drawn you into my script so that you can mirror to me the part of my mind that is still in need of healing, that still holds a vestige of the past. The One Self we both represent has conspired perfectly to create an opportunity for its own healing and recovery through this relationship, should I choose to take the opportunity.

Imagine if enough people on Earth did this all at once. Would we drop all the ridiculous fears and prejudices that have only served the ego and its thirst for conflict? Would we be the fulfillment of the motto from the 1960s peace movement, “What if they gave a war and nobody came?”

I must determine within myself to remain vigilant with my own thoughts before attempting to “read” meaning into others’ thoughts. I need to recognize the voice of the ego (critical, jumping to conclusions, judging, separating, comparing, and complaining) versus the Voice of Spirit (quiet, neutral, accepting, non-reactive, inclusive, and loving) and then make a choice.

Us vs. Them?

The ego is usually the first to speak up—often loudly and belligerently. The ego typically makes broad claims such as “He’s such a loser” or “Women are all like that.” It will then pat you on the back for your wisdom, and assure you that you are right and they are all wrong.

The Voice of Spirit, which is always “on,” quietly reminds you that we are all the same, we come from the same Source, and we want the same things. Spirit will show you that all behavior is rooted in love; the “good” behavior is clearly demonstrating love, but that which we judge as “bad” behavior is nothing other than a call for love.

The bad behavior is just the best way a person knows how to demonstrate that they are not experiencing love in that moment. If they did not know of love on some level, they would not know what they are missing, and so would not act out. A child only acts out if it is tired or missing comfort, food, or recognition. Essentially no difference.

The World and Others Are Extensions of Myself

Once I resolve to see the world and others as extensions of myself, each relationship in any circumstance becomes a portal to deeper Self-understanding, acceptance, and love. The end game here is that once we “get it” on the level of Unity Consciousness, the next phase of planetary evolution will begin in earnest. Maybe only a small percentage of us have to consciously “get it” before a spontaneous wave of awakening overtakes the world.

We have yet to fully come together and snap out of the spell of separation, but this is inevitable and is already happening. Our only real choice in the meantime is “How much longer do I want to suffer?”

Bringing Love Into Any Situation, Past, Present, Or Future

If I am truly done with suffering, then I am ready to embrace the Path of Forgiveness. On this path, giving becomes receiving. On this path, only love is real. All the rest is simply the illusion of love’s absence. Because of my Divine inheritance, I have the power to bring love into any situation, past, present, or future.

There is great power to be released and realized in these understandings. At first, there can also be great confusion, as we realize the terrible cost of conditioned illusory thinking upon our own life’s story and the collective human saga. We realize how needless the historical litany of human suffering has been, how pointless the centuries of war, struggle, and conflict have been, and all for naught … if we don’t learn by them! We are so deeply entrenched in our judgments, many of which are upheld by institutions, “-isms,” and generational beliefs weighed down by piles of moldy cultural baggage that we call “history.”

The Dark Night of the Ego Leads to Spiritual Awakening

The period of “reality adjustment” as we recognize our blindness and awaken to Universal Truth is called in some traditions the “dark night of the Soul.” As the Soul is Divine and knows not of the dualistic concept of darkness, this period of adjustment is more accurately described as the “dark night of the ego.”

I would guess that a large number of folks who believe they are depressed are rather experiencing the early signs of Spiritual Awakening. You have to see the illusion for what it is and become “disillusioned”—this is a necessary step before you can embrace the reality hidden behind the veil.

The “Spiritual emergence” movement in psychology is devoted to helping people through these early birth pains of the sudden onset of awareness. Researchers have discovered that many of our “diagnosed” conditions are natural reactions to sudden leaps of consciousness that simply need to be supported and assimilated into the former worldview and self-concept of the awakener.

Remember to Meditate Before You Medicate!

Fear not, and try to remember to meditate before you medicate! Unlike chemical intervention, a crude and potentially harmful form of intervention based on a backward perception of causality, the choice to go into silence has no dangerous side effects and is freely available to all.

Please be encouraged that once the awakening has begun, like a pregnancy, it must come to fruition. There’s no going back, and that’s a good thing! We are not called to create a perfect future, as this is likely impossible here on Earth School.

The future, as an aspect of the illusion of time, is being charted with each and every decision we make in this very moment. We are only called to respond to what is before us now. Trust: Spirit has your back, and will only lead to new “nows” that will build on and reinforce the peace you are accepting for yourself now.

It is most important to recognize that all Spirit is asking from you is your willingness to change. This will, being One with Divine Will, is all that is required for the Divine Messenger to support you in every way you can perceive toward the goal that is given each of us. Spirit will accomplish this mission, even with as little as 1 percent willingness on your part; that’s how willing and determined Spirit is to lead you home.

“The Resolve to Awaken: Recognizing Others As Extensions Of Ourselves” by David Ian Cowan, not dated, at https://www.innerself.com/content/personal/happiness-and-self-help/life-changes/10473-the-resolve-to-awaken.html

5 Things to Release on the Path of Enlightenment

Credit: Fuelrunning.com

By Wes Annac, Culture of Awareness

You probably don’t need me to tell you that spirituality isn’t all about feeling positive or uplifted. The enlightenment path requires us to sacrifice things that hold us back and keep us from making progress, and maybe this is where the notion of religious sacrifice was created.

Most religious sacrifices throughout history have been unnecessarily violent and wicked, but maybe the idea of religious sacrifice originally came from the external (and even internal) sacrifices we have to make on the enlightenment path.

Why do we have to make these sacrifices? Because there are a lot of things here on Earth that stop us from making genuine spiritual progress and we have to avoid these things if we want to elevate our consciousness or awaken others.

The purpose of self-sacrifice isn’t to boss ourselves around or give up things we cherish, unless they cause serious damage – it’s to detach from things that are destructive so we can make room for more wholesome things that accelerate our evolution.

Here, I’ll list four things we’ll want to give up if our goal is to walk the spiritual path without falling back into limiting habits or mindsets. Ridding ourselves of them right now will allow us to forge ahead with strength, and they’ll eventually stop influencing us and fade away.

1. Negative or toxic people

I’m sure we all know someone who seems overly negative or constantly upset with life, and we’ll want to keep our distance from them for the sake of our spiritual growth. When we’re around other people, we tend to be subconsciously influenced by their expressions and, sometimes, their outbursts, and if we aren’t careful, we could end up repeating their behavior.

We could end up frustrated with life or with the people around us, and we won’t even realize we were influenced by someone else’s negativity. We’re all subconsciously connected, and the words and actions of people we’re close with can affect us in a deeper way than we realize.

With all of this said, we should remember that the issue isn’t always black and white. We might have a loved one who means a lot to us but tends to have random or not so random outbursts (or their opinion on any issue is just too negative to take), and we won’t just want to abandon them.

We don’t want to abandon our family or people we’re close with just because of their negativity, so we’ll have to find some kind of middle ground. We don’t want to spend so much time with them that they start to influence us, but we don’t want to avoid them just because we don’t like how they express themselves.

We’ll want to stay balanced and listen to our intuition when we’re met with any difficult circumstances. Our intuition will help us make the best and most helpful decisions, and we can spend time with an angry loved one while finding some way to stay impervious to their negativity.

2. Sugary, artificial, GMO foods

It’s no secret that our modern society is filled with cheap, fake foods that make big food corporations money while slowly poisoning us and ensuring that we’ll be sick when we’re older. These foods don’t just hurt our physical health – they’re a detriment to our spiritual health as well because mind, body and spirit are one.

What we put into our bodies affects us deeply on a mental, emotional and spiritual level, and if we want to be clearheaded as we go throughout our day or we want our meditations to be more potent, then clean, healthy and preferably organic food is our best bet.

I’m not trying to be one of those food snobs who tells you how to live your life, and while I try to be healthy, I tend to eat as much fake, sugary food as anyone else.

I’ve felt firsthand the difference between healthy and unhealthy food, and the first choice gives us energy, clarity, vitality and an enhanced sense of passion while the latter pleases our taste buds before making us feel lazy, tired and awful.

We’ll also want to avoid unhealthy eating habits, like eating too much or too late at night. We don’t realize how this affects us when we’re doing it, but the effects will make themselves known at a later time when we feel terrible and we can’t understand why.

3. Too much television or technological stimulation

Watching television is one of the most destructive things a spiritual seeker can do. Again, I don’t want to tell you how to live, but a lot of things on this world (including TV) seem designed to keep people unhealthy and, for lack of a better word, stupid.

Television dumbs us down while keeping us fixed on an artificial reality that’s usually violent, hypersexual or just plain juvenile, and intelligent people aren’t the only ones who might want to avoid it.

Credit: Itsmonopolymoney.blogspot.com

Spiritual seekers would benefit just as much from avoiding TV or any other kind of technological stimulation, but there’ll always be times when we have to use technology. Most of my work is done on a computer, but when I’m done working for the day, I can always get outside, go to a nature spot, ride my bicycle and generally detach from technology.

It’s important to reconnect with nature, which technology can prevent, because it’s our true home and it’s provided everything we’ll ever need for survival or leisure.

We can’t reconnect with nature if we’re too busy staring into the TV, our smartphones or any other gadget that distracts us from life, so we’ll want to put these things down sometimes and rediscover reality.

4. Laziness or fatigue

I know that fatigue is sometimes unavoidable, and we never want to feel it when it comes along. However, there are driving factors, like laziness, that we’ll want to be on the lookout for if we don’t want fatigue to bring us down.

While the advice we’ve been given from various spiritual teachers to ‘become nothing’ is helpful on the path, I think we should be active in the midst of all of our spiritual practices that reconnect us with nothingness.

I don’t see anything wrong with exercising a little each day, and I’d imagine it can boost our meditation and make those higher vibes easier to feel.

Not to mention that being active can help us find a sense of purpose, and once we find what we want to do in life, we can enthusiastically pursue it with an active, awake perspective instead of sitting down on the couch to be entertained by whatever reality TV show is on.

I think being active is an important part of spiritual evolution, and laziness or fatigue won’t go away until we remove ourselves from them. It might require us to step outside of our comfort zone, but we’ll see that it was worth it when we feel better and the good vibes can flow in without restriction.

5. Suppressing negativity or avoiding the ‘shadow self’

We all have a ‘shadow self’, which is the aspect of our personality that’s constantly negative, hurtful, narcissistic, etc. Contrary to what you might think, I’m not encouraging us to give it up. I’m encouraging us to give up trying to suppress it, because it’s a crucial part of us that we’ll want to embrace, heal and release.

In embracing the shadow self, we’ll also want to stop avoiding the negative situations we have to deal with in life. No matter how hard we try to stay ‘happy’ or aligned with our higher consciousness, we’re going to have to deal with negative situations that we’d rather sweep under the rug.

How we handle them is our choice entirely, and we can do it with grace, patience, and most importantly, centeredness. We have to stay centered when we deal with these kinds of situations, and leaving our center can cause us to lose ourselves in the emotional fray.

The destructive tendency to suppress negative situations or even the negativity we carry within will stifle our spiritual growth in the long run, so let’s give it up and willingly embrace any negativity that comes our way – from the world or from within.

As we continue along the enlightenment path, we’ll find plenty more things that we have to release into the ethers if we want to keep thriving. This might be a difficult or uncomfortable process for a lot of spiritual seekers, but it’s all for a good cause and the positive change will be evident when we look back.

We just have to be willing to give up things that no longer serve us, and it gets easier when we can call on our higher consciousness and allow our spiritual/creative essence to work through us.

Opening up to the ‘higher self’ will make our disciplines and sacrifices easier, and whether we know it or not, we have an infinite source of love, guidance and creativity within that we can access at any time.

Our connection with this part of ourselves will become clearer and more refined as we willingly sacrifice the things that stop us from maintaining it, and the guidance we receive from our higher consciousness will make any future sacrifices easier.

With this in mind, we see that our sacrifices really don’t have to be hard. They will be hard as long as we build them up in our minds, but opening the mind and connecting with the intuition will help us understand that sacrifice and discipline boil down to a moment-by-moment choice.
