Hey Winston; ======================================== Linda, you ought to be ashamed of yourself comparing these people to doorknobs! Doorknobs are useful!! It's amazing how many people actually think they can get somewhere blasting these messages out isn't it. ======================================== LOL. Winston, I laughed my head off. That's the last thing I expected from you. But seriously - yes, you're tight. It IS amazing how many people think they'll get somewhere blasting stuff out that way. What's even sadder is that some people think "that's what Adland is for..." and get belligerant and rude when someone asks them to stop. I had one member say "I have a RIGHT to do that here... and then proceed to ban me. LOL. That's like saying just because you own a house, people have a *right* to knock on your door at dinner time every day, trying to sell you something. Most people view "being pitched" as unwelcome. The trick to selling is learning how to go from "annoying pest" to "welcome guest" - and blasting messages out to total strangers in hyperdrive isn't the way to do it. ; ) Linda

HEY! I have a sense of humour! Sometimes! LOL :-) Actually I think a lot of the blame for this type of behavoir goes to those sites out their with unmoderated discussion forums. It's been my experience that where you find moderated forums you usually find good exchanges of information happening. Sadly though you have to hunt long and hard to find them. Even here at Adland, those forums are hard to find. And when you do find them you like to protect them.

Linda, This is interesting. I have a moderated Forum and someone who had just joined my friends list left a post. The post was just an advertisment to check out his website. Since he was a new friend and new to AdLand, I felt bad having to delete his post. I did tell him why and referred him to Linda's Forums and to Clay's Forums for instruction on how to correctly post and to build a sig file. Hope he can learn from this and not just get mad.

Linda, This is exactly why I am so happy you invited me and I listened. Most invitations I haven't even checked into yet. I wanted to learn about the ins and outs of how to do things at adland so I wouldn't be grumbled about when I did something others didn't like. Don't want to step on anyones toes. Martha
