Hi Cheri; I know you're on vacation, but you'll see this when you're back. : ) =============== Can't thank you enough, you've saved me a lot of time and that's precious stuff! =============== You're very welcome. : ) =============== I read the next post and your reply and got a big kick out of it. I'm an old DOS user, started my computing career with office productivity software in the mid-80's. =============== You and me both. Got my first home computer in the mid 80s. I had an external floppy drive -- not the little ones, but those huge things that really were floppy. 5.5 inches or something like that. My first upgrade was to get the smaller floppy drive. And all this on DOS. lol I used to do Desktop Publishing and book formatting as well as graphics and design. When the Internet came along, I thought I'd have NO trouble at all because I was quite proficient with the computer itself. Was I in for a surprise. Luckily for me, there was only one browser (Netscape 1) so I didn't have to deal with browser issues - at least until Microsoft put out the first version of IE. Anything previous to Netscape was just text readers, so being able to create real "pages" with images was way cool. lol. We'll have some fun when I do your review... but for now, suffice it to say that learning html is actually easier than learning how to make a WYSIWYG editor do what you actually want it to. More after the 17th... : ) Linda

Another wonderful post Linda. I am an affiliate to about 4 programs. I used to use the URL they supplied me. But after reading the first post, I grabbed Ewen Chia's http://graburl.com I am using that for today because there is a message I have to send out. By next week, I will be using redirection on my own website. I learnt that also rocks. Thnaks Linda. Love You.

Hi Linda, I had a chance to test the link masking. I wanted to use it in an autoresponder mail message but I guess the window.status doesn't apply ? Anyway, it works in an html page but I see one can still get the url detail by right-clicking on the linked item. Once the linked page is opened in the browser I guess the complete url address is display so one can still strip off what they need. Interesting technique with pros and con. Thanks Again

Hi Jack! Nice to see a face to go with the name. : ) You're right that the mask doesn't work in email. Most autoresponder systems (ie; aweber, getresponse) have their own system that allow you to mask and track urls, though. That's if you use one of those, of course. As for the html page, you can go one step farther and open the window without the url bar... which prohibits anyone from stripping off the code. So, it eliminates the stripping url issue. If you're not sure how to open a new window without the url bar, I can post the code for you. : ) Linda

Linda, I am trying to absorb all these great ideas and tips. The cloaking issue has been a tough one for me. I even have software that is supposed to cloak the links for me and I have trouble with it. I have been using http://snipurl.com and I like them as they do some tracking for me. I like what you have taught us here. The comment about the url showing up in the browser window was my question. Even though I have the link cloaked, it shows up in the browser window. If you have a way to stop this, I would love to hear it. Thanks,
