I remember the stuffed toy rabbit! Jayson had a little white rabbit for the first few years of his life that he carried around by the ears, actually constantly rubbing the rabbit ears against his nose most of the time, it was grubby, of course. I occasionally got it into the washer and dryer. Then along came his little brother, Dennis. When Dennis was about 3 or 4...and Jayson was about 5 or 6...Dennis dropped the rabbit into the toilet. I didnt think washing it would help, but it probably would have been okay after laundering BUT i was really tired of that grubby many-year-old toy rabbit. I threw it out, but Jayson missed it so much I bought him another one, but it was diffferent, the new one looked like a dog with rabbit ears. He didnt like it as much. He still remembers and blames Dennis for "drowning" his best friend, the once-white rabbit.
Dennis had a blanket that he also kept for too many years and would freak out if he couldnt find it at bedtime. Eventually by the time he was too old, probably over 6, it was in tatters and I convinced him to let me toss it.
