Hot and humid night Sleep was the plan Horizontal squirming the reality Not only the physical issues The mind playing tricks too I have to sleep I need my sleep Thoughts about tomorrow frequently surface "What if I wake late?" The fan is noisy Is its whiring better or worse? I tried a cool wash Temporary relief Window ajar, light attracts bugs Now I'm not alone That poor dangly legged thing is stuck It only wanted a night of love or food It's got a very hot light source instead Oh, and a guy waving a rolled up newspaper Radio? No, might wake another poor soul Could do emails I suppose? No Laptop downstairs Counted sheep but they are too blurry Really tired now but still can't sleep Too hot Turn the pillow Wonderfully cool Check the clock again Must be later than that? Soooooo hot zzzzzzzzzzzz "What's that?" Alarm clock? I'll risk one tired eye Yes, it's the alarm New day Cooler today
