Sorry I have not been over here for a couple of days.  I have been caught
up in a whirlwind all this week and his name was James!! *lol*

Since December James whom drove for Werner's Trucking company was
only getting 3 or 4 days running a load on his route then just on two weeks
ago he did not get a load for 8 days, so James started looking around at
other trucking companies just in case...and said to me that he would not leave
Werner's until April when he got his 4 year review and holiday pay.  Well
Werner's did the dirty on him and only paid him $20.00 per day layover
which was not going to go anywhere near paying our mortgage.  Also he
found out that they were keeping back 9cents per mile.  They had him down
for this extra 9cents in payroll and what he was being taxed on but was in
actual fact receiving less.  This is fraud or especially unethical.  Greg Werner
gave himself a nice hefty Christmas bonus of $160,000 at the expense of his
drivers!!

James got an interview with Universal Trucking a refrigerated company
which is small by comparison with 70 truck fleet and run like a Mom and Pop
run company - very friendly and supportive and much, much better treatment
and incentatives.  They actually their drivers up front extra money for expenses
they incur while out on the road e.g. Toll road charges, load charges to be
taken off and put on etc which he never received before, these were all expected
to be paid out of his pocket.

Anyway, after being accepted to join the staff James went along and gave in
his notice and they let him leave that very day (strange to this Kiwi whom is
used to working out notice) and he started orientation over the last two days
and all his screenings which he flew threw and is heading to South Carolina
as we speak.  He left around 1pm - we drove in together and I drove home
alone!  He will be home once he has run 25,000 miles which he will be about
this run there and back with maybe a couple of 'shag runs' (small runs taking
a load from one depot to another)

So that's my news.
